beside trying to drop about 8lbs i want to work towards a super strong core. i have a bad back but with good core training with various styles of exercise i feel my back pain ease up and i am able to do activities i thought would be impossible or limited b/c of the back injury.

I will be training for my first every triathlon and my first every 10 mile races!

I’m working on push ups right now. I’m gradually working my way up to (hopefully!) 100 in a row. Looking forward to getting up to 50 in a row (plan is to get there by the end of March).

I also want to start doing pull ups. The last time I did one of those was in 5th grade!! I just need to find a place to do it (my gym is tiny and doesn’t have anything I can use, and I don’t have anything in my dorm either). That may have to wait until the summer when I’ll have access to a pull up bar.

Plank is also something I totally suck at right now… I’m pretty good at other core moves and poses but plank gets me every time! So, I will be working on that too 🙂

I’m going to try to complete a half-marathon in under 2 hours. And, based on your post yesterday, I got interested in adding the unassisted pullup to my list of goals as well! I blog about my personal stuff on http://www.year27.wordpress.com.

  5. My goal is to develop a strong enough core to get through the 45 minute abs class at my gym without taking a break! I’m definitely working on it 🙂

My goal is the wall sit. I am a slow beginner here. My exercise currently consists of Wii Fit Plus and just last week added crunches and wall sits with the ball. My weights are sitting ready to go when I am ready. Taking this slow and steady as to not get hurt as I have done almost every time I started an exercise program. This is my year to succeed. With not only exercise but healthy eating and emotional health to overcome the old eating habits.

I am going to continue exercising at the rate I currently am and I am going to focus on helping others around me incorporate fitness and healthy living in their lives this year!! And I am doing a Run Amuck Race this year!!

  8. Spice says:

Going to complete boot camp…5 days a week, for 4 weeks, at 6am. Plus finally run for 5km’s without having to walk!

Training for a marathon, mastering the elusive pull-up, and defeating the odds: losing fat & gaining muscle while working FT/working on my masters. People keep telling me I’m going to gain weight! oh heck no!
