What’s Your Favorite Workout DVD Genre?

January 30, 2010 by

I had a blast earlier this week trying out several new dance workout DVDs . I’m no dancer by any stretch of the imagination, but in the privacy of my own home, I’ll bop and bounce and booty shake to my heart’s content. Like Jenn has exercise ADD, I have DVD ADD, and I like to jump between hard-core hard workouts to slightly fluffier, fun fare like the cardio dance earlier this week and the mind-body-cardio combo of the intenSati workouts.

What about you? If you had to pick a fave, which style of workout DVD would you choose?

I DEF don’t like to bop around…I always feel like I’m going to break something! And since I don’t love strength training, doing a DVD is a good way to get me through!

i am always trying different things. i like my dance workouts as much as i like my HIIT runs and sprints. i like my ballet/barre workouts as much as i like my kettlebells and pumping iron. its so hard to fit it all in so i try to go with the flow on the workouts as long as i am moving i am burning.

I’m so un-coordinated it’s not even funny! So for me it has to be something that isn’t too complicated. And I really have to “gel” with the person leading it. I can’t take overly cheerful (think Denise Austin)! I’d rather have someone that will kick my butt, but in a FUN way.

I’m a Boot Camp or Step Aerobics kinda girl – if it’s not intense then why bother? Getting fit isn’t supposed to be comfortable :)
