Julia Mancuso: Sexy on Skis
This week, FBG will feature an inside peek into the minds—and training routines—of three U.S. Olympians. Here’s the final installment of this special three-part “Going for Gold” Olympian FitStars series!
Ask Julia Mancuso what’s scarier—flying down a mountain on skis or posing in undies—and she’ll tell you it depends on who’s at the photo shoot. Julia is an Olympic sponsor’s dream. Not only does the girl have athletic talent, she also has a smile that will have any endorser yelling, “Sign her!”
The beautiful one stopped laughing at my surprise wild-card question long enough to explain that skiing is easy for her because she’s used to going fast all the time.
“It just becomes habit, ” she says.
If she’s prepared, she’s good to go. She spends hours on end skiing, running, lifting weights and building up a core that would make the Earth jealous (no really, I saw her STAND ON A BALANCE BALL). Even for a fitness gal like myself, I questioned why she wouldn’t run for the modeling hills, but Julia loves feeling fit. She believes being fit means wanting to do anything and not having any part of your body hold you back.
“The more fit you are, the more you want to work out,” she says.
She gushed about how she can run for hours and hours, and how it feels knowing that she can keep going. If you’re a runner like me, that says it all. I’m confident she won’t be quitting her day job any time soon. —Tish

Thanks Chrystalle! That means a lot 🙂
Oh now THAT’S a good role model. Being healthy and fit is more important than aesthetics!
