How Hard-Core Are Your Workouts?

Credit: SashaW

Earlier this week, Tish almost died in the name of fitness (maybe a slight exaggeration, but she jumped through fire and into ice-cold water, people!), and it got us wondering. When it comes to workouts, how hard-core are you? While I’m not one to shy away from a running challenge or a ridiculously hard workout DVD, I haven’t done anything quite as crazy as a mud-filled obstacle course like Tish did. But how about you?

Can’t see poll? Click here to tell us about how hard-core your workouts are!

I’ve never been a hard-core type. I think I was always too neurotic to be hard-core (it’s tough to look, well, tough when you’re constantly wringing your hands and asking “Did I do that wrong?”).
I challenge myself with my workouts, but I don’t define myself by them. I figure that giving birth to and raising two kids with special needs is enough to keep me busy and happy, lol!

I never would have thought I was hard core until I started distance running. That’s when I really learned that pushing myself beyond what I thought possible turns out to be “fun.”

I recently did the Sand Pit 5K, which was a race all on sand with obstacles. We had to run into the ocean (HARD especially with the tide coming in, so waist high water really ended up crashing over our heads!), crawl through hoops, climb over fences, and the grand finale was running up a hill of sand, then down through a pit of water.

When working with my trainer, I love being pushed, pushed, pushed to my physical limits. Usually this involves some crazy intervals or strength training. I’m not afraid to try something new, but that Sparta challenge is a little bit out of my league. Yikes!

  4. Courtney I says:

I’m not Sparta, but we all have to remember that by being consistent in our exercise and doing things like running or biking, the average person thinks we are HARDCORE! 🙂

Has anyone tried http://www.bodyrock.tv for home workouts? Holy crapinolee! That’s hardcore stuff. I’m still sore today (friday) from a tuesday night workout!

@Courtney, I’ve done some of those workouts.
And ended up crawling the next day, lol! And she seems so sweet!

  6. I don’t know if I actually am hardcore, but when I lift weights … I feel it, lol!
