There’s nothing like chomping into a good sandwich. Whether it’s for lunch, dinner, or heck, even breakfast (breakfast sandwiches are ah-mazing!), we’re a fan of the sammie. So when Arnold Bread (who also makes Brownberry and Oroweat breads), asked us to work with them in promoting National Sandwich Day 2011 and creating a special sandwich recipe to celebrate the day, we were thrilled. Like in-carb-heaven thrilled.

arnold breadExcept, well, we need some help. Sure, we whip things up in the kitchen every now and again, but it’s usually by either following a recipe or a need—as in, we only have [enter sad ingredient] and [enter another sad ingredient] in the cabinet so how can we still eat dinner? So we’re asking all of you, dear readers, to brainstorm with us. We’d like to submit a recipe that’s healthy, fun and a touch unique—definitely not your usual turkey on wheat with light mayo and a tomato slice. Something snazzy…something memorable…something very FBG.

So tell us, what’s on your favorite sammie? What fun taste combos do you like? Salty? Sweet? Meaty? Cheesy? Vegetarian? What ingredients are a must in an ultimate sandwich? Leave a comment by the end of the week with your sandwich thoughts and ideas, and we’ll even give a few free Arnold Bread coupons to a few lucky commenters in exchange for their help.

Thank you in advance for your sandwich brilliance! —Jenn
