Biggest Loser 12 Finale Recap: And the Winner Is…

Wow. This sure has been another season of The Biggest Loser that didn’t disappoint. Sure, I was pumped for the BL 12 finale all of yesterday (as our Twitter feed will confirm), but I was grinning ear to ear during the actual show.

Bob and Dolvett were rocking it, all gussied up and cuter than ever. (Bob had the good hair back, too!) All of the contestants looked phenomenal. I was particularly shocked by the amazing weight loss of Patrick, Becky, Vinny and Joe. Talk about jaw-dropping!

While I know a lot of people weren’t fans of the new format of The Biggest Loser finale because it didn’t show everyone weigh in, I really, really liked it. Instead of taking the time to have them get up there and then have the scale beep about 20 times, not weighing everyone gave the contestants and trainers more time to talk. It was so cool to hear how everyone had been doing at home and get their tips on how others at home can do it, too. Inspiring! We won’t comment on Jennifer getting a bouquet of flowers from Bob after winning the at-home prize (we’re too green with envy!), but we will comment on Skinny Vinny! Dang, he looked good—and so glad he won’t be rocking those over-sized overalls any more.

Then there was the final-final weigh in with Antone, Ramon and John. While we were Team Antone all the way (and holy crap he looked amazing!), John ended up taking it home. Ramon had a decent shot after winning The Biggest Loser marathon (with all the engagement teasing between Ramon and Jessica, it’s easy to see how maybe he had other things on his mind…), but we really thought Antone was going to take it. Darn-it if meanie John didn’t win it. Gosh knows he wanted it—he’s clearly been playing the game since day one.
