Watch the drinks—of all kinds. While you probably already know to forgo the sugary coffee drinks (or at least sub them for a fat-free latte), do you know how much coffee to drink to boost your metabolism? Jackie says that drinking one to two cups of black coffee a day boosts metabolism, but more than that stresses your adrenals and slows it down. And one thing you have to do to minimize weight gain this time of year: cut back on the booze. “If you’re used to drinking a glass of wine a night, cut your intake in half for all alcohol,” she says.
