How Fitness is Helping My Dreams
It’s amazing how much I’ve changed since becoming a Fit Bottomed Girl. You’d think because I’m an actress-in-training, I would have started working out so that I could be a size negative zero like some of those actresses who we all want to feed large helpings to. But that wasn’t the case. I made the decision to change my lifestyle and incorporate more fit savvy choices into my day-to-day activities just so that I could make it up the stairs without huffing and puffing. The perks that came along with that mentality are why I’ve gained so much more than just a good set of lungs.
It’s crazy, but acting and image had nothing to do with my decision to start moving. However, getting fit has definitely improved my overall feelings about my dream.
I know the exact moment living the FBG mentality made a difference in my life. It was when I completed that beautiful marathon. When you challenge yourself by setting a goal and conquering that bad girl, it does something magical to your gumption meter. You start to believe you can do anything you put your heart into. That mentality bled right into my dream. Trying to make it in the film industry is hard, frustrating and terribly slow, but I seriously believe that if I could run a marathon I can make it in acting.
That’s the crazy thing about fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. If you take away the measurements, the size obsessions and the physical hang-ups, you’re left with this beautiful confidence that you can do anything you put your heart, sweat and tears into.
