Men and Pilates: 3 Moves to Strengthen the Core
3. Swimming. Who says you need water to swim? This move is great for the abs and the lower back.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Lie on your stomach with the legs straight and together and arms straight overhead, by your ears, keeping your shoulders away from your ears.
2. Pull your abs in, pulling your belly button in toward your spine.
3. Extend your arms and legs in opposite directions, lifting them up off the floor. Keep your neck straight and neutral, face toward the floor.
4. Alternate lifting right arm/left leg, then left arm/right leg, pulsing them up and down.
5. Breath in for a count of five, then out for a count of five. Repeat for two or three cycles.
