Protect Your Skin Like an Olympian: COOLA Suncare Review

I like finding that I have things in common with an Olympian I admire. I like learning about their workouts and meal plans and trying to emulate them, and I love hearing that they have some of the same hobbies I have. I really, really like when they use a product that’s totally accessible to me. And when the Olympian in question happens to be Kerri Walsh (teammate to Misty May-Treanor!), well, all the better. (There’s a reason I wore these sunglasses all last summer, after all.)

Walsh, who’s going for yet another gold right now in London, has another product in her arsenal that’s available to her fans: COOLA Suncare. I’ve been trying out a few products from the line, and I think it’s safe to say I’m a convert. For one thing, all COOLA products are made with at least 70 percent certified organic ingredients, and are always paba, paraben, petroleum and phthalate-free. The products I tried—SPF 35 spray, SPF 45 moisturizer and SPF 30 Liplux—totally suit my needs. I put a base of the moisturizer on my face and neck, spray myself down with the spray, apply the Liplux as needed, and consider my suncare routine done.

And, of course, the most important thing: It blocks the sun. I’ve spent a lot of time outdoors in the last few weeks without a burn. And, did I mention that it smells good? Like, really good? I know that’s not a must-have, but boy, is it nice.

What suncare products do you rely on? Have you tried the COOLA line? —Kristen
