Interview with Soccer Star Abby Wambach

  • FBG: How many times in this video with Arnold and Oroweat did it take to hit the cabinet? From someone on the shoot, we learned you hit it on the first try?*
  • AW: I did hit it on the first try. I don’t remember how many times I actually ended up doing it, but if I have to do it again, I probably wouldn’t hit it, to be honest. It was fun though, a lot of fun making it.
  • FBG: Any advice for our Fit Bottomed Girls readers or anything you’d like to add?
  • AW: Yeah, I mean I think that it’s really amazing that women came together with an idea, created a website and now can inspire people and give information to women to be better than they think that they can. So much is out there in terms of information and how to perform and what to do to become a better athlete and to become more solid in your community. All of the things, I think that for me it’s inspiring to know that it only takes one or two people to come up with a great idea that inspires people to move. To literally get out and be active and to create a better, healthy lifestyle for themselves.

Wow, thanks, Abby! We think you’re darn amazing, too! If you love Wambach as much as we do, be sure to check out this contest to score a private soccer clinic with her. While you’re there, you can also nab her cooking tips, recipes and more healthy eating advice!

Who’s your favorite women’s soccer player? We have a feeling we have A LOT of Wambach fans out there! —Jenn

*Side note: One of the outtakes in the video is actually a shot of the first time Wambach tried to hit the cabinet and nailed it! She raises her arms and says, “Amazing.” Um, totally!

I’m a little disappointed. I’d have loved to have heard more about her and her training than the bread she is sponsored by. This felt a little too Sponsored
