Everything You Need to Know When Buying Bike Shorts: Leg Openings
If you are female, you’re evolutionarily programmed to have sexy, full hips and thighs. If you’re a cyclist, though, you’re blessed with extra sexy in that area! Female-specific cycling shorts have a wider cut in the hips and thighs and bigger leg openings than their male counterparts.
When trying on cycling shorts, make sure the leg openings aren’t too tight. They should be stretchy enough to move with your thighs when you sit down, squat and rotate your legs, but not so stretchy or loose that they’ll ride up your leg. Some companies put elastic or silicon lines at the seams of the leg opening to prevent this from happening.
