How to Run a Marathon: What to Eat and Drink

You will be burning an immense amount of calories, so make sure you fill up on plenty of whole grains and fruits and veggies to fuel your training, and protein to repair taxed muscles. As always, drink plenty of water—at least half your body weight in ounces each day—and remember to stretch, stretch, stretch! And foam roll—and listen to your body, walking and resting when you need to.
