Okay, so it should come as no surprise that I could totally steal Jenn’s top three list, throw my byline on it and claim it as my own. Tiramisu? It’s always my go-to dessert. Margaritas? Sign me up. Burgers and fries? Yes, please. But since it would be a bit of a cheat to steal Jenn’s list completely, I’ll go out on a limb. Because, after all, I do have more than a few splurge items I indulge in from time to time, if I’m being honest, which I am.

My Top Three Splurges

1. Mexican food. Okay, this is kind of a cheat, but the entire genre must go here, including margaritas. New Jersey has many an amazing Italian restaurant, but the Mexican leaves a lot to be desired. That’s why whenever I do happen upon Mexican food, I have no guilt whatsoever when I indulge. Give me the queso! Give me the enchiladas! Give me a taco! Give me the beans and rice! Give me a ‘rita on the rocks! And give me happiness.

2. A Wendy’s Frosty. Of all the fast-food burger joints, Wendy’s is my favorite. It just tastes fresher, better and more real than other places. And darn if that Frosty isn’t just one of the most delicious things ever. There is just something about the texture and taste—it’s not a shake, it’s not ice cream. It’s a FROSTY. And I love it.

3. Uncrustables. I don’t know what made me buy my first box of Uncrustables. You know, those little crust-less peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that come in the freezer section? For some reason I think FBG Tish was involved in putting the idea in my head. Whatever the reason, I bought my first box and they’ve been my guilty pleasure ever since. They are the softest little bread pouch of PB&J, and there is just something so yummy about biting into that cold little sandwich.

Anyone else share these less than healthy favorites? Or know of any good Mexican restaurants in Jersey? Do tell. —Erin
