Breaking FBG News: Paula Abdul Makes Contact for #PleasePaula (Seriously!)

paula-abdul-585We interrupt this regularly scheduled Question of the Week to bring you very exciting news! (And, really, we think this totally fits in with this month’s topic of fitness inspiration!) THE Paula Abdul has made contact on Twitter! After a whole year of our #PleasePaula campaign in which we begged her to come out with another workout DVD, she finally responded.

Yeah, we about died when we saw it, too. The little girls in all of us pretty much stopped what we were doing, put on “Opposites Attract” and pretended to dance with MC Skat Kat. And hard. See, we can pretty much track the creation of FBG back to Paula in a lot of ways. It was her tunes that got us dancing, singing and moving as kids—so much so that it made me want to be an aerobics instructor. (Well, technically, I wanted to be a pop star but without the ability to really sing or dance, group exercise seemed like a sound choice.) Which led to me really getting into fitness and health, which way down the road led to FBG. See, boom, goes the Paula-fitness-inspiration!

Granted, Paula’s not saying that she’s actually making a new workout DVD—but the people over at BodyRock Sport recently said she’s been rocking their stuff (this and this if you’re interested) and doing all kinds of interval training in her home gym. Sources also say that she enjoys dancing with a personal instructor or using her own workout videos that she produced. Hmmm…certainly sounds to us like she’s got workout DVDs on the brain!

Paula probably thought this super-sweet Tweet (seriously: we’re not worthy!) might get us to stop being so “persistent.” But what she doesn’t realize is that it’s only encouraged us…So please Paula, make a new workout DVD! The fitness world needs it!

Help us make this Paula-Abdul-workout-DVD dream a reality by Tweeting @FitBottomedGirl and @PaulaAbdul with your #PleasePaula plea for her to make a new workout DVD! —Jenn
