Jenn’s Favorite Workout Outfit

Have a favorite workout outfit? So do we! That’s why each FBG is sharing her favorite exercise get-up for this Question of the Week!

I have about a million favorite workout outfits. Okay, a million might be exaggerating, but I’m prone to always be talking about my “favorite” of the moment. So when we all decided to show our all-time favorite workout outfit, I knew that it couldn’t just be something that I’m loving right now. Nope, it had to be something that stood the test of time. Something I go back to time and time again. The one outfit I’d take with me if I only had one for the rest of my life. (You know, that hypothetical desert island question.) And, ladies and gents, this is it:

As you might imagine, I’ve mentioned most of these pieces at one time or another here on FBG, but it’s been over the span of a few years, so let’s break it down one by one, shall we? First, the adidas TECHFIT Tank. I’ve worn it during SO MANY workouts (proof here and here). It’s just one of those tanks that is bright and cheery, comfy, flattering (I love me a v-neck) and wicks sweat away perfectly.

I love the back of it, too. Fun little details that function (read: the mesh back with cutout) get me every time. As does a good racer back. This is the tank that’s always in the laundry because I wear it so much.

And you can’t beat a pair of solid black shorts with a thick fun waistband to go with it! A plain version of these, these Under Armour shorts are my go-to pair. They’re short without being ridiculously short and are great for everything from running to CrossFit.

I dig the hidden back pocket that doesn’t have a zipper (less chance of chafing!) …

Along with the neon yellow inner mesh insides. Keeps ya cool and dry!

Up top, I support “the girls” with this life-changing sports bra from Brooks Running. Perfect for high-impact activity, it’s incredibly supportive, well-made — and cute! It just makes you feel sturdy and strong.

And the inner “modesty” cups? Well, that’s a sports-bra must for me. Love the thick double straps, too.

Now, let’s talk footwear. I have a number of shoes I love. Shoes I wear often. These are not those shoes. These shoes are special. So special that I do that silly thing that I think almost everyone does with something (food, wine, clothes): I don’t actually wear them. I’m not sure what I’m saving them for, but I love them so much that I don’t want to get them dirty or worn out.

I custom designed them while on a media trip put on by Nike, and I’m still smitten with them. I picked out every bright color on them — and they have my name on them!

They just make me smile. They’re my absolute favorite, and seeing them makes me realize that I do need to wear them more often. At least indoors …

Lastly, socks! Yes, I have a favorite pair of socks. My feet tend to blister so I’ve become a bit of a sock connoisseur in the past few years. And while expensive workout socks are almost always worth the price, I have been loving these C9 by Champion socks that you can pick up at Target. A little thicker than most with compression and a nice back tab to protect the heel, they’re a steal at less than $10 for a four-pack. Plus, love that they come in fun colors!

Oh, and I’d be remiss to not mention my favorite cover-up of the past two years: my Fit Pit hoodie! A girl’s gotta represent her gym. Plus, it has my favorite thing ever — thumbholes!

What pieces make up your favorite workout outfit? Any pieces there for more sentimental reasons, like my Nikes are? —Jenn

Love your bright Nike’s, Jenn! My favorite workout outfit (at the present moment):
North Face Eat My Dust shorts – even though I get that awful chub rub, they’re super lightweight, cute, and functional.
Outdoor Research Echo tank – super lightweight, great wicking action, and, of course, cute.
Lululemon sports bra – cute, comfy, functional.
Brooks Pure Flow 2 running shoes – they work beautifully, keep my feet and knees free of injury, and the purple with red detail always me smile
    Feet-tures running socks
Outdoor Research Ferrosi hoody jacket – cute, comfy, functional, versatile. It’s like a mantra with me.

My go-to gear is a UA Victory tank (I get them 2 for 1 or whatever sale they have at the UA Outlet), Champion Double Dry sport bra (I have amassed a few because they’re cheap and supportive), Victoria’s Secret Pink seamless thong, (3 for $33), UA compression capris in their shiny pant material, and Injinji toe socks to keep my toes from blistering. When the temps are too hot for capris I wear my Lululemon Pace Setter skirt with ample amounts of Glide!

  3. Kelly says:

Lululemon power Y bra – OR Target champion skinny strap bra
    Next Level logo tank
Lululemon speed sport OR Athleta chatarunga tight
bright colored no show socks from Famous Footwear
Reebok Oly lifters or CrossFit Nanos

    Boom!!
