Give Your Post-Workout Shower a LUSH Makeover

LUSH-collage-text

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people tell me they don’t want to work out in the morning because they don’t want to deal with packing all their shower goodies. It takes up space and spills and is generally a pain. And while I get the aversion, I also have a solution: Keep a “go bag” with all the essentials in a safe and non-spillable form. Easy peasy!

LUSH sent me a few products specifically designed to deal with this issue for Fit Bottomed at Any Age Week, and let me tell you right off the bat that I now have some new additions to my gym bag. Ready to check them out?

4 LUSH Goodies to Throw in Your Gym Bag

1. Godiva Shampoo and Conditioning Bar: $11.95This shampoo bar creates a creamy lather quickly and easily, and leaves my hair feeling clean and smelling awesome. According to LUSH, it lasts as long as three 250-milliliter shampoo bottles. I don’t know the exact numbers, but I know I’ve gotten lots of uses out of mine, and it’s still hanging in there. Only downside is that my hair still requires conditioner afterward. That being said, my hair is seriously color-treated and faces chlorine numerous times a week, but I would recommend testing it out before planning a locker room shower sans conditioner.

2. Full of Grace Solid Facial Serum: $14.95 (0.7 ounces). I tend to be a bit picky about moisturizer for my face. I’m at that awesome age where I’m on the lookout for new wrinkles and new zits in equal measure. But, being the good sport I am, I tried this out, and I’m glad I did — I had no breakouts at all, and, when used with a light hand, it provided just the right amount of moisture. (With a heavier hand, I felt a little greasy.) I love keeping this handy for days when I have an early swim workout, which sometimes leads to facial dryness later in the day — I just rub a wee bit on the dry area and voila! Problem solved.

3. King of Skin Body Butter: $13.95. The first thing I noticed about this bar of body butter was that I wanted to lick it. Seriously, it smells so good. Which is great because after I rubbed it all over my arms and legs, I smelled fantastic, too. Like the solid facial serum, a little tends to go a long way (especially in a humid environment, like Florida or pretty much any locker room in the world), but it’s a piece of cake to use and, well, did I mention the fragrance?

4. Tiny Hands Solid Hand Serum: $8.95. To be honest, this product never made it into my gym bag — I don’t normally use a different lotion on my hands than the rest of my body when getting ready after a shower, so there didn’t seem to be much point. However, I’ve found it to be super handy (Ha! Get it? Handy?) for travel, particularly air travel. My skin dries out so much when I fly, and if I’m checking a bag, I rarely have any liquids or gels in my carry on (including lotion). The solid hand serum is crazy convenient, and just like the other products, it smells amazing.

Has the post-workout shower ever deterred you from a workout? Would these products help? —Kristen
