True&Co., a revolutionary (yes, really) e-commerce lingerie shop that a new and surprisingly simple way shop for bras from home. You find your perfect bra by taking a two-minute “fit quiz” that asks every question but your measurements.

For example, you put in what brand and size your favorite bra is, how it fits, whether your breasts are the same size (a significant portion of the population’s are not), whether they are full, hang to the side, etc. From there, they suggest bras — you pick three, and their experts pick two based on your choices and your quiz. They ship all five to you (for a deposit), then you try them on and keep (and pay for) only the ones you love, sending the rest back with a prepaid label.

(Full disclosure: I tried this out and was a little skeptical, but not for long. Every single bra I received was a great fit, and the ones the experts selected for me were in line with what I’d chosen but got me to try on a slightly different fit than I would’ve found on my own.)

20s and 30s vs. 50s and 60s

A 50- or 60-year-old woman will usually be more concerned with fit issues than a 20- or 30-year-old since your body and breasts will inevitably go through changes throughout the years. Overall, it’s important to get fitted often and find the perfect fit for your body.

Regardless of your age, don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone! Many brands balance a great fit with fashion-forward styles. Trying on bras that go beyond your basic nude and black essentials is always worth a shot.

A common mistake is becoming accustomed to one size and wearing the wrong size for you. We’ve fitted women who have stuck to the same size for years and discovered they were a completely new size but looked and felt much better after. Don’t pay attention to or be shocked by the labeled size, pay attention to the fit and confidence you gain from wearing the best bras for you.
