Where Are They Now? The Biggest Loser’s Jackson Carter

What are you up to now? Life has kind of been a blur since the show, but is now returning to some small amount of normal. I am currently going to school for Human Performance, which is basically a Bachelor’s degree in training, nutrition and wellness. I am working full-time as the health and wellness coordinator for a non-profit youth resource center and loving it.

What’s the No. 1 thing you’ve learned since leaving the ranch? The No. 1 thing I have been able to integrate into my life has been balance. When I got home, I had such an issue with balancing my Biggest Loser life with my everyday life. If I didn’t work out enough or went out to eat with friends, I’d feel so horribly guilty. I have finally gotten into a groove. If I have a beer or skip a day at the gym, it’s not the end of the world. Sure, I’d be more fit if all I did was hang out in the gym and eat broccoli and skinless chicken breasts. But I’d also be miserable. My BodyMedia fitness tracker helps me maintain because I can track my calories in/calories out.

What advice would you give the current BL contestants? Remember that this is such a huge opportunity. It’s a second chance to change your life. But it’s only a small stretch of your otherwise long, LONG life. Don’t go in for the wrong reasons. Money, fame, notoriety … that’s great. However, you really need to keep your eye on the prize: a life full of lasting fitness and well-being.
