Remember how yesterday we told you  all about that awesome new cycling workout that we’re smitten with (along with, ahem, Ms. Nicole Kidman)? Well, today we have a review for the treadmill junkies in the house — and even those who think of the treadmill more as a “dreadmill.” That’s right, both treadmill lovers and dreadmill haters will dig this one because it makes the time on the treadmill fly by — in the sweatiest and best way possible. And all from your cell phone or MP3 player!

With the same set-up as Cycle Express, Treadmill Express consists of three high-intensity 20-minute workouts, each with its own warm-up and cool down, rocking beats from Deekron The Fitness DJ and coaching that’ll push you to give that treadie your all! This album — available on iTunes for just $9.99 — is coached by one of our favorite fitness instructors: Amy Dixon. Amy’s workout DVDs and other MotionTraxx workouts are pretty epic, and her coaching on Treadmill Express is no different. Perfect for all fitness levels (you can adjust your speed and incline as you need), it’s not an easy workout but Amy has a great way of cuing form and giving you direction that helps keep you motivated. She doesn’t teach in a way where she just tells you what to do. Girlfriend makes you want to do it!

There are hills! And sprints! Amy takes you on quite the 20-minute high-intensity interval journey that is all perfectly set to thumping beats that encourage you to keep at it. It’s one of those workouts where you finish it and feel strong and proud of yourself. The 20 minutes go by fast because there’s so much variance — and holy heck those recovery intervals sure do go by fast! For days that you’re feeling extra saucy, you can even combine the 20-minute workouts to create 40-minutes or even an hour of all-out treadmill fun.

The Fit Bottomed line: If you’ve been looking for a fun yet tough workout that is quick and gets results, Treadmill Express would be it. It’s like having your very own celeb fitness trainer in your earbuds. And if you’ve been super bored by the treadmill, we guarantee this’ll bust your treadie rut!

Do you have a favorite treadmill workout? Will you try this one? —Jenn

I think you’ve sold me! Is there music/an accompanying soundtrack?

  2. We spend a lot of time at the gym and anything that motivates and provides a challenge is good in our books! We’ll be giving this one a go.
