Brooks’ New Transcend Is Like Running on Clouds

Back when I was in New York for the Brooks Running blog ambassador trip, I got the chance to get my hands on a pair of the new Transcend shoes. Said to be pretty much running heaven — with a luxurious ride and plushness that many runners have forgone in favor of more minimalist shoes lately — these shoes have gotten plenty of buzz.

First, there was the amazing and futurist package they arrived in at FBG HQ. Even my dog was impressed! (Click on the image below to see the video of what this little spaceship can do!)

Second, there was the Runner’s World ad that was the first ever video included in a magazine. (Again, click the image to see video of this thing in action. So cool.)

So, yeah, these new Brooks Running shoes are clearly cool. Like, super cutting-edge wave-of-the-future cool. And, honestly, I’ve been pretty much smitten with them. Yes, they look cool — and the marketing behind them has been beyond trendy. But, they also deliver. Using biomechanical insights, these shoes were designed with “Ideal Pressure Zones” that disperse impact to the Guide Rails that provide on-demand support, not to mention the plush comfort of Super DNA cushioning. This basically means that they keep your gait where it’s supposed to be, while giving you the push-off you need to speed up but also the ride that feels oh-so good. Like, you’re running-on-clouds-in-heaven good. In fact, these shoes are light, but they still provide a ride that is beyond comfortable — and luxuriously fast.

At $160 a pop, they’re definitely an investment. But if you’ve been looking for a high-quality running shoe that doesn’t compromise a plush ride for speed, this is it. Welcome to the future of running, y’all!

Do you like a more plush ride when you run? —Jenn
