His-and-Hers Running Shoes: Puma Faas 500 v3 and Faas 300 v3

Women’s Puma Faas 300 v3 Review

faas-300

I’ve really enjoyed running in the last couple of pairs of Pumas that I’ve tried. But, walking? Well, for me, whenever I take a break to walk or do a walking lap around the neighborhood to cool down, the heels of Puma running shoes have often rubbed my heels raw. So I was excited to run in the Puma Faas 300 v3, but I was afraid to walk in them. Thankfully, my fears were unfounded. They felt great running and walking. Hooray! And, boy, oh, boy, did they feel good on!

Super lightweight (5.8 ounces), they’re really airy and pretty low to the ground (especially in the forefoot) with an 8 millimeter drop from heel to toe. It almost feels like a technical shoe (read: super-fast shoe for the super-fast elite runner), but with a bit more of the cushion and a few more of the features we non-elite runners dig. When you first step into the shoe, you feel plenty of feel-good cushion but once you start moving, you still get that responsive close-to-the-ground feeling that makes you want to run, and fast.

It’s got a nice snug fit, and it looks pretty darn cute on. The soles are plenty flexible, too, so this shoe feels like a nice mix of minimalist, but not too minimalist. (Seems to be where a lot of shoes are going these days, eh? The best of all worlds!) For $100, these are a solid running shoe that also can work pretty well in bootcamp class or CrossFit where you mix running with other moves. I dig ’em!
