Preventing Assault While Exercising Outdoors
During the summer, many of us hit the great outdoors when it’s time to get sweaty. Some take advantage of the later daylight hours, while others try to beat the heat by hitting the roads or trails before the sun comes up. Regardless, Arthur suggests the following:
- Before: Choose well-fitting workout clothes and avoid pieces that can easily be grabbed.
- During: Keep your hair in a side braid or tuck it in a cap so it can’t be pulled easily.
- After: Add a sprint interval to the end of your run. Not only will you blast calories and stored body fat, but you’ll be making yourself better prepared to explosively and quickly run away from an attacker, even when fatigued from your workout.

Thank you for the tips! Everybody has to learn a little self defense especially these days when criminal doings are increasing. Just a couple of weeks, my neighbor was attacked by an intruder.
