Headphone Review: Putting 4 New Pairs to the Test

Panasonic Water-Resistant Sports Clip Earbuds

If these $100 headphones are giving you sticker shock (or if they just offer more bells and whistles than you really need), don’t worry — we’ve still got you covered. The Panasonic RP-HS34-K Earbuds are just $19.99 and pretty basic, but with some excellent perks.

They’re really lightweight, for one thing, and although they only have one size for the actual earbud part, they fit both my husband and me well. And, as you probably garnered from the top of this page, they’re water- (and sweat!) resistant, so you can sweat up a storm or run in the rain without worrying about them going on the fritz.

The only bummer I have to note is that there’s no volume or track control on the headphones themselves, so any changes to your music would need to be made from the source (i.e. your phone or iPod). Maybe not ideal if you have your phone tucked away, but not a huge deal if it’s handy. —Kristen

What do you look for in a pair of headphones or earbuds? Do any of these suit your needs? —Kristen & Jenn

You can skip tracks with Pump:
How do I skip forward tracks? press and hold vol + for 2 seconds per track you want to skip. Keep holding it to keep skipping.

How do I skip backward a track? press and hold vol – for 2 seconds per track you want to skip. Keep holding it to keep skipping.
