Brooks Running Review: PureGrit 3

puregrit-3

I’ve had a pair of trusty PureGrit 2 shoes for awhile now, and they’ve been my go-to trail running or even light hiking shoe. (Every time I go to Colorado, I pack them!) And I like the PureGrit 2, but the PureGrit 3 ($120) is a serious improvement over its predecessor. Totally redesigned and inspired by climbing shoes, these are insanely light with all kinds of grip and protection from rocks and roots on the trail. Brooks added a toe guard (can’t tell you how many times I’ve tripped over branches and just the, er, ground, so this is awesome), and you can’t beat the traction on these even in steep and wet conditions. They’re also uber comfy — with the feel of the rest of the shoes in the PureProject line — and they’re durable enough to last you between 250 to 300 miles of outdoor running bliss. If you’re a trail runner, you gotta try ’em!
