Take a Walk in These 3 Active Boots

These boots are made for walkin’. And that’s just what they’ll do. One of these days we recommend that these boots take a wonderful walk with you.

Wait? That’s not how the song goes? ‘Cause, um, that’s what we’ve been singing when wearing and reviewing these fabulous active boots (Jenn the Jambu’s and Merrell’s; Erin the Ahnu’s!). Whether you’re looking for straight-up hiking boots or a more fashion-forward pair to wear around town that supports you as you move, talk a walk in ’em! Designed to move and look great, we love these …

3 Active Boots We Love

1. Jambu Cube ($159). I’ve really been spoiled by Jambu over the years. They make such CUTE shoes — and no one is the wiser that they’re super comfortable, great to walk in, lightweight and water-resistant to boot. (See what I did there?) These look ridiculously great with a pair of skinny jeans or tights (so easy to dress up or down!), and with Hyper Grip technology, they help you to not fall on your butt in bad weather. (Hooray!) They even feature a memory foam insole and a partially recycled rubber outsole and come in black or brown. Two side zippers make them super easy to get on and off, which, you know, I totally need these days!

2. Ahnu Hiking Boots ($140). I loved my old pair of Ahnu’s so I was excited to try the company’s Sugarpine Hiking Boot. I haven’t worn a hiking boot in ages, so compared to my typical shoe, they seemed a bit sturdy and stiff. In fact, I texted Jenn saying, “Breaking in hiking boots is a thing, right?” Yes, it is in fact a thing, and once I had worn them around for a few days they were significantly more comfy. The hightop style provides a lot of ankle support — perfect for trails so you don’t twist an ankle on a rock or tree stump. They’re super sturdy but don’t feel heavy or clunky, and the fact that they’re waterproof means that I will be wearing them a lot on rainy and snowy days — and any time I go off-roading!

3. Merrell Women’s Shiloh Peak ($250). I know, I know. These aren’t cheap. But they’ve become my go-to boot most days of the week because they are so versatile and cute. I get compliments on them all the time whether I’m wearing them with tights, jeans or a dress. Not quite as comfy or light as my Jambu Cubes are, these are a bit more rugged with a one-and-a-half-inch heel (perfect height for a bit of a lift but still fine to take a walk in) and an outsole that’s got super grip and traction. The footbed has memory foam in it for comfort, along with odor control. Besides feeling great on, I just love the straps and details! They come in black and brown, too.
