Say What? Fitness Products That’ll Make You Smile
We get the chance to check out a lot of fitness products around here, but some of our favorites are the ones that make us laugh. After all, the best way to turn a good workout into a really great and memorable one is to find a way to smile through it, and if all that entails is a quick look at your water bottle or catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, well, that’s A-okay with us!
ViewSport ($24.99 and up): The first fab thing about ViewSport tops is that, as you sweat (and you know I sweat), the message Work Hard/Hard Work appears on the back, almost like super sweaty magic. But if that’s not enough, the line features numerous styles, colors, and — most importantly — clever sayings. My favorite (and the one that has caused people to stop me on the street to take a picture and find out where I got it) is “Burpees Don’t Like You Either,” but I’m also rather partial to “Sweat More Bitch Less” and “Run More Than Your Mouth.” And right now, through 7/30/15, if you buy one top, you can get a second one free! —Kristen
Tervis Tumbler Workout Water Bottle ($25): We’re not the only ones guilty of telling anyone who exhibits even a passing interest in fitness about our latest healthy obsession, so I love that this bottle beats me to the punch(line) with its design, which says, “I started a new workout routine. Every day I do diddly squats.” It’s cute, it’s funny, and it’s definitely an attention-getter. And even better, this water bottle style Tervis Tumbler has all the traditionally awesome Tervis features (insulated, no condensation, microwave/dishwasher safe, pretty darn durable), plus is has a tightly sealed lid, so I can toss a bottle full of water into my bag without worrying about spilling while I, you know, do my diddly squats. Solar Q&Q Watch, Donut Be So Serious ($50): You know we’re big Gwen Stefani fans, so when this limited-edition solar-powered watch from her Harajuku line landed on our radar we were like, whee! And then, we read the playful copy on it, we were all like, haha! Super fun, water-resistant (great for if you get sweaty) and made from recycled materials, we couldn’t love it more. We’re always saying “all good things in moderation,” and now we might have a new phrase: Donut be so serious with your accessories! —Jenn
FBG Apparel ($20 and up): What? You didn’t think we’d leave ourselves out, did you? Because dude, we are great at making ourselves laugh. Sassy yoginis will dig our July special edition “Kiss My Asana” tank, but don’t ask me to pick a favorite. Between “You make my knees weak. Just kidding, yesterday was leg day,” to “If found on the ground please drag over the finish line” and “Oh my quad Becky, look at her squat,” well, we’ve got enough options to keep you laughing through a week or two of workouts! —Kristen
