4 New Running Items to Help Will Spring Along

We’re over winter. Because even though winter running is totally doable (and the thoughts you have during it are hilarious), there’s just something about spring that says: come out and run with me! So, to help will spring along — and to warm up our cold, cold tootsies — we’re sharing four new running items we recently tried from Brooks Running (yep, we’re blog ambassadors but still totally objective, yo). They make for what we expect will be the perfect layers for spring running!

1. Run-Thru Jacket ($98)

One of the biggest trends you’ll see in fitness apparel this spring is old-school throwback fabrics — with a high-tech twist. Take for example the Brooks Run-Thru Jacket and Pant (more on the pant below). Both are made from that mesh-like fabric your high school PE or track shorts were made of — except, in 2016, that fabric is high performance. The jacket has water-resistant panels on the shoulders to keep you safe from the rain, but the body features open mesh to keep air moving. The jacket also has retroreflectivity on the back to keep you safe on the road, zip hand pockets, a media port and it’s super light weight. It does make a little bit of a swish-swish sound when you run with it on, but that’s a small price to pay. Oh, and another totally on-trend feature of the jacket? The crew neck. Going retro never looked so good.

2. Run-Thru Pant ($95)

You know how we’re smitten with the Joyride Pants? Well, these have a lot of the style of those, except they’re made for spring so they’re lighter and cooler. With the same fun style of the Joyride with the mesh-like fabric of the Run-Thru Jacket, these are great on your run or just running errands. Made with DriLayer Burst on the inside, the pants feel soft against the skin. They also have a wide and flat waist with two pockets that slims and stays put while moving around. These pants are truly what the activewear trend is all about!

3. Ghost Racerback Running Shirt ($42)

If you told us we could only run in this tank for the rest of our lives, we’d be totally okay with that. That is how much we love it. Made of both DriLayer and linen, they’re super soft while also performing to “rigorous standards.” Which, in Brooks Running speak means, we had SUPER fast runners wear them for hours and hours and they stood up run after run. Rock on. We love how great these feel on, and — fun fact — the multi-color designs on these were inspired by Japanese candy wrappers. And you know what one of these tanks looks fabulous under? You guessed it: the Run-Thru Jacket.

4. Women’s Launch 3 ($100)

If you’re looking for a neutral shoe that has just the right balance of cushion with spring (boing! boing!), look no further than the Launch 3. Super comfy with tons of push-off, these feature an ultra-light upper to keep your feet cool and dry (come on spring weather!) and Brooks’ DNA midsole cushioning that adapts to your foot size and speed for fantastic energy return.
