The Grandma Who Is Inspiring the Heck Out of Us

When it comes to fitness and health, we are firmly in the “age ain’t nothin’ but a number” camp. After all, the only thing that matters is how old you feel — and if you’re eating right, working out and are committed to being your best, there’s basically nothing that can stop you! And we love how this reader — Amy Roach — embodies all of that. In just two years, this new grandma has had quite the transformation. Read on to be inspired by this real FBG!

Amy’s Story

See that “before” picture? I didn’t recognize myself and decided to do something about it. Started walking my faithful dog for a half hour (two miles) every night — it really worked! After two weeks, I felt so much better and lighter that it inspired me to do more. Jumping jacks during commercial breaks, a plank here and there, riding an exercise bike while listening to a good tune — it all adds up. I also began eating right — lots of salads, veggies, fruit, turkey and chicken, very little sugar and no pop.

The confidence is amazing! I’ll be 50 this February, and I recently became a grandma. I’m not submitting this to brag, I’m submitting this to show that it’s totally within your reach. Commit for 12 weeks. It changed my LIFE. I indulge now, once in awhile, but I stay on track. You can do it, I promise !

And BTW, healthy food tastes GREAT! You won’t “suffer” through a diet, you’ll still enjoy every meal. I’m preaching it!!! 🙂

Most sincerely yours,
Amy Roach

We the young generation have been spoilt by technology. Need something? Amazon it. We get everything spoon fed. We become lazy, and we are even lazier to hit the gym.
But let’s not blame technology. I think such stories are much required to build up the will power to get going.
    Keep such stories coming, Jenn!

  2. What a Fantastic Post!! Love your work.
