A Review of Dona Jo Fitwear

I have an ungodly amount of yoga pants, so you bet I know my yoga pants — and I’m very picky about what I like. So, when I had the opportunity to try out Dona Jo Fitwear, I was totally down. Dona Jo has a wide variety of crazy patterned leggings for every type of personality. They also offer a few solid patterns for the more subtle ones (like me). They also offer additional yoga clothes, running clothes, printed cycling clothing, CrossFit active wear, barre clothes and women’s tennis skirts.

One aspect of Dona Jo that I love is their message. The company name came from the COO, Raphael Costa’s, grandmother’s nickname. They say she is the perfect representation of everything women’s activewear should be: strong, influential, fashionable, healthy and active — and I couldn’t agree more. They have a community of women who inspire and motivate each other every day through their active lifestyles.

All their activewear is made in Brazil by a team of pattern-makers and seamstresses. Their goal is to help their team find their strengths in order to further their education, while also offering them work experience.

I took my new leggings ($72) for a spin at my usual workout session at The Fit Pit. The leggings come in three sizes: 1 (0-8), 2 (10-14), and 3 (16-20). I’m currently 150 and almost 5-foot-7-inches tall. I typically wear a size 6 or 8, so I decided to go for the size 1. I wish I would have gone up a size though. They’d probably be fine for someone the same weight and height who didn’t carry their weight in their bottom half (unlike me). They fit, but they were stretched to the max.

The leggings are soft, but fairly thin. They waist did ride down as I worked out, which drives me crazy. But I wonder if I went up a size though if this wouldn’t have been a problem?

The best part about these leggings are the features; they offer UVA/UVB protection, moisture-wicking fabric, flat seams and a reflective logo (Safety first!). If you don’t like the print I’m wearing in the images, they have so many more — and also offer capri-length leggings as well.

I feel the same way as you with the leggings because we seem to be similar in size. I will rave about their awesome skirts. They are higher waisted with attached shorts that don’t move on your long runs. If you are a runner like I am, I highly suggest you to try out their skirts 🙂

Your review and the 20% discount was motivation to order two skirts from their site. Hoping to love them. Thank you!
