Athleisure is by far the best trend to come out of fashion since the little black dress. I mean, a publicly acceptable trend that allows me to wear my yoga pants to a cocktail party? Sold. (Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch — but you get the point.)
Athleisure allows you to wear your workout gear even when you’re not working out. It’s even becoming acceptable to rock the trend at the office. Who doesn’t want to wear effing sneakers to the office?
The trend is a little tricky to pull off though. It requires the right balance of workout gear and casual, everyday clothes. It’s also important that those grubby running shoes (Well, at least mine are grubby) don’t make their way into your outfit. A clean, crisp sneaker is the way to go. It brightens up the outfit, while keeping with the trend. And don’t be afraid to accessorize! A leather jacket or felt hat can go a long way.
Finally, the best a part about the trend? It’s hard to find an excuse to skip your workout when the clock strikes 6 p.m. and you’re already in the clothes you plan to sweat in. Time to crush those fitness goals.
