New Season, New Activewear: 4 Fresh Trends for Spring

spring activewear

There’s no better way to mark a new season than by changing something up. Hit a new running trail, try a new group ex studio, join a cycling club, make a new recipe! And if that’s not enough change for you, also consider changing up your activewear with one of these four new looks. So fresh. So fun. So spring!

Embrace Your Flower Power: KiraGrace

Everything is in bloom right now, and we are simply smitten over this look from KiraGrace. Part retro and part flower power, the polka dots are totes charming and the daisies are just, well, the friendliest flower, don’t you think? All of KiraGrace’s stuff is so well made, too. It holds up, stretches just the right amount and is perfect for your low-impact activities like barre, yoga and walking. (Anything more intense and you might get some splippage on the tights and will need some more support up top.) They also have a halter sports bra in black and while polka dots that you can basically wear under anything for a fun pop of fun. Oh, and if you wear those daisy tights out and about, expect people to STOP and compliment you on them. It happens every time I wear them!

Rethink Neutrals: NB x J. Crew

What if New Balance and J. Crew got together and had an activewear apparel baby? This is what would happen. And if you’re a black tights and solid-colored shirt kinda gal, this might just be your fave new line. With lots of high-rise options for more coverage, this line has all of the classic and timeless Americana modesty that you think of when it comes to J. Crew, plus the sweat-wicking fabrics and attention-to-workout-detail of New Balance. You won’t see loud, bright prints here. But you will see lots of navy and military green that you can basically wear like a neutral. Feeling a touch more snazzy? Go for the stars, girl.

Go Eco-Friendly: Tasc Performance

Saving Mother Nature never goes out of style. And Tasc Performance gets that — and takes it a step further by making eco-friendly and sustainable workout pieces that are made from bamboo/organic cotton and merino wool that somehow look great and stay stink free. Great to wear here, there and everywhere! We’re especially obsessed with this Bywater High-Low Pullover. Great to take you to and from the gym.

Feel Like a Freakin’ Superhero: Alter Ego

Don’t just go “beast mode” at the gym, go superhero mode. Alter Ego makes all kinds of workout-friendly shirts and tights that’ll basically transform you into your favorite superhero, from Wonderman to Batman to Captain America. With plenty of options for girls (and guys!), it can even give you an instant six-pack. While obviously super fun and VERY awesome for, like, Halloween, who says you can’t be a superhero all day every day?

What activewear trends are you loving right now? I’m still addicted to the sports bras with fun backs! —Jenn
