Biggest Loser 13 Episode 9: Finally! An Uplifting One

biggest loser 13*SPOILER ALERT* This Biggest Loser 13 recap reveals details from last night’s episode. So if you don’t want to know the dramatic details and who was voted off of Biggest Loser 2012, click away, my friend, click away!

I’m not going to say that The Biggest Loser 13 redeemed itself last night—’cause the past-episode shenanigans is going to take more than one episode to make up for, especially with these rumors going on—but it was definitely a refreshing episode that reminded me of why this show can be so darn good. Life change! Positivity! Believing in yourself! Discovering who you are! Healing past wounds! Ah, it gets me every time.

Part of the goodness of last night’s episode was probably because all of the contestants were separated, going home and being reunited with their friends and family for 18 days. While at home, we got to see how much they’ve really changed (seriously—many of them are looking LEAN!), a wicked 10,000-meter rowing challenge for $10,000 (Chism killed it) and  how they were dealing with and overcoming real-life temptations.

Besides a weigh-in with huge numbers and a heart-breaking send off—we will miss you, Chism!—my favorite parts of the show were Megan getting on that horse with no probs and Emily having a heart-to-heart with her dad. And I’m just going to come out and say it: Emily is my favorite. In a show that’s made of—let’s be honest—a bunch of crazies who get wrapped up more in fighting with each other and playing the game rather than life change (at least up until this point), Emily is refreshing to watch. And she’s hella strong. The only thing I missed last night? Bob. There simply wasn’t enough of him or Dolvett.
