Lifeway Greek-Style Fro-Yo: The Ice Cream with Perks

froyoprotein

Let’s get one thing straight—I’m lactose intolerant, which means I haven’t had a decent scoop of ice cream in many moons. While this has saved me from a world of hurt when stress calls for a pint of the dairy-licious good stuff, I still crave it occasionally.

lifeway greek style fro yo, protein, probiotic

That’s probably why I’m such a fan of probiotic yogurts. For some reason, yogurt isn’t harsh on my stomach. Luckily for me, there are companies in the world like Lifeway (Remember? We also tried its frozen kefir!), who create plan Bs for the lactose-sensitive.

Made with Greek yogurt, this Greek Style Fro-Yo is full of good stuff you wouldn’t normally expect from your dessert. It’s an all-natural probiotic, gluten-free, protein-pumped concoction that I’m in love with. I had a couple of scoops to test my tummy’s powers out and I’m happy to report I fared well!

The blood orange flavor was my favorite flavor by far. It’s fresh and delicious. Half a cup of the blood orange is 110 calories, 17 grams of sugar and 6 grams of protein. I took one bite and fell in love. Did someone finally learn how to create heaven on earth? A dessert that tastes good and has some healthy perks? Yes, please! I also tried the honey flavor, but it just didn’t hit the right notes. It’s very Greek yogurt-y—and that was a bit too much for my sensitive palate. But maybe that’s just me!

I love when people find a way to sneak some good into naughty foods. It’s like making cupcakes with spinach puree! Do you have any sneak attacks you add to foods to give them a healthier kick? Do share! —Tish
