Do Life: One Inspiring Book to Do More and Be More
Do you guys remember when this inspiring (and, hello, cry-worthy) video was going around? I do. It’s super inspirational, and I’m always a sucker for anything that shows people totally taking charge of their lives and changing for the better, which is exactly what Ben Davis did, losing 120 pounds—and finding happiness—through running and setting goal and after goal. And now Ben has a book! Do Life: The Creator of My 120-Pound Journey Shows How to Run Better, Go Farther, and Find Happiness.
Part memoir and part get-fit plan, Ben chronicles his amazing and very relate-able weight-loss journey. He takes you from the very moment when he first got inspired to get healthy to his setbacks to his now success as a writer and force behind the Do Life Movement. The tale—which is intermixed with inspirational tips, tricks and even training plans to conquer distances of all kinds—is brutally honest about his experience (bloody nipples, post race—owww!) yet smart and funny.
While I think anyone could benefit from reading this book—heck, I read it cover to cover on a long plane ride and was riveted—I think beginners, especially those who have a lot to lose and think that they can’t change or run, would really, really enjoy this read. Ben and his story are proof that anyone can change their life for the healthier and happier, and this book will jazz you up as much as it will give you some of the basic tools to get out there and get active and eat right. A must-read for anyone needing a jolt of motivation!
