3 Funky New Fitness Apparel Companies to Check Out

fit-fashionWe get sent a lot of workout apparel here at FBG HQ to review, but these three companies recently sent us pieces that definitely caught our fit eyeballs. While we’re not exactly sure that we’re cool enough to pull them off (they are sooo fashionable and trendy!), they’re certainly worth sharing. So, to those of you who like to rock the fitness fashion trends, behold what just might end up being workout-apparel love.

1. Hu-nu Activewear. Looking for something to get you from the Pilates studio or tennis court to errands or a quick drink with friends? Say hello to Hu-Nu Activewear. With flattering materials and cuts, they have a number of looks that can be transformed from day-to-gym-to-night. Whether you want to go “chic and cosmopolitan,” “pure and practical” or “rosy and romantic,” there’s a little something for everyone. While we don’t recommend these pieces for super intense or long workouts, for lighter activity they bring some sass to your sweat session at a price point that’s similar to lululemon. Hu-nu how fun workout apparel could be? Get it? Har! Har!

2. MPG Sport. Out of Canada, MPG Sport’s new My Performance, My Lifestyle Collection has some futuristic-looking stuff. With cool performance-enhancing fabrications and detailing, this line mixes technical with fashion in a way that is funky, fresh and fun. Although pricey, we are absolutely smitten with this tank and can’t wait until the weather cools down to try this Space jacket—it makes us think we’re going to the future of fit fashion!

3. Unit-Y. From the bright colors to the funky sunglasses, there’s no doubt that the 80s look is cycling back. And Nordstrom’s new—and pretty affordable—line Unit-Y brings the fitness funk. From leg warmers to crazy print capris to cut-out shirts, there are a lot of fashionable pieces to mix and match. While we wish some of the materials used in the line were a bit softer and more comfy (we recommend them for easier cardio workouts, yoga and Pilates), there’s no doubting that this line is super fun.

What do you think? Too cool for school or fashionably fit and totally awesome? —Jenn
