Just look at all the amazing athletes working with P&G for the Winter Games!

How many Olympians have you seen in an interview, just after they’ve done something amazing (and, um, they’re Olympians so they’re always doing something amazing!), immediately thank one particular person who helped them the most? The one person who supported their dream, got them to so many practices and sacrificed so much? Yep, MOMS.

And with the world looking forward to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, P&G has launched a Thank You, Mom campaign, which recognizes that no athlete gets to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games alone. And we are PUMPED that we are working with them to help celebrate all of those amazing athletes and the moms who helped get them there.

P&G has always been a big supporter of the Olympics (Procter & Gamble is a Worldwide Olympic Partner, with brands like Olay, Pantene, CoverGirl, Bounty, Puffs, Vicks, Crest and Gillette!), and some of this year’s top athletes who are joining the P&G fam-bam include: Lindsey Vonn (Apline Ski Racer), Evan Lysacek (Figure Skater), Julie Chu (Ice Hockey) and Taylor Lipsett (Sled Hockey). We could not be more pumped.

As P&G and these amazing Olympians help kick off the Thank You, Mom campaign, they’ve also put together the Raising an Olympian film series. These specially produced short films showcase the journey of world-class athletes, as seen through the eyes of their moms. From first steps … to first failures … to first and continuing successes, the short films capture the unconditional love and daily life lessons moms share with their children who dreamed of pursuing the Olympic motto: Faster … Higher … Stronger. Prepare to be inspired … and maybe grab a box of tissues.

Lindsey Vonn

No matter what the situation, you can overcome it. What a powerful lesson, Lindsey’s mom taught her!

Evan Lysacek

Try again and again and again. And believe. That’s what Evan’s mom instilled in him!

Taylor Lipsett

Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t do. Words of wisdom from Taylor’s mom!

Julie Chu

Commitment. Honor. Unity. What does that spell? Chu! Love it.

Seeing a little of the lives behind these Olympians’ successes makes us even more amped for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. And, seriously, we want to give all of these moms — and our own moms! — a huge hug. Being a mom really is the hardest but most rewarding job!

Which athletes’ Raising an Olympian video resonated the most for you? Who are you most psyched to see compete in February? And stay tuned in the coming months as we highlight more from this amazing P&G campaign — along with doing a fun Twitter party! —Jenn

I love that P&G is recognizing that athlete’s are often supported by a lot of people to help them get to such elite levels of competition. Olympic athletes are hard workers, there is no doubt about that, yet someone helped and supported them along the way. Nice genuine and thoughtful campaign P&G!
