Accessories That’ll Make Winter Running Better (Promise!)

Remember how I teased a few weeks ago about some of my new favorite winter running accessories from Brooks Running (who — full disclosure — we’re a blog ambassador for!)? Well, here they are in all of their glory! And believe me, they make winter running so, so, SO much better. (Even if these days I’m only running/walking around the neighborhood for about 10 minutes!)

4 Winter Running Accessories That Rock

1. PureProject Warmer ($50). PureProject is, hands down, my favorite line of workout apparel out there. It’s stylish, a little funky and totally, absolutely functional. In fact, I’m not to proud to admit that when I wear it, I feel cooler. Or, I guess, in this case warmer. Because this little accessory can be worn wherever you need warmth. Don it as a scarf, a skirt or even a hood — just cinch the drawcord to make it fit where you want it to be. See? Instant, warm awesomeness.

2. Utopia Thermal Headband ($20). It’s a well-known fact that headbands don’t stay on my head. But what I like about this headband is that you can wear it as an ear warmer — which does stay on my head. With brushed thermal fabric that keeps you warm yet is still light and breathes, this running accessory even has a bit of reflectivity in it so that you’re better seen when doing your winter running in the dark. Safety bonus!

3. Race Day Armwarmer ($10-$20). Armwarmers are so cool, right? And you can’t beat the quality of these. Giving you a little extra winter-running coverage on a night or chilly morning (great at a race starting line!), these are fitted yet light, soft and stretchy, so they feel good on. As you warm up, they’re super easy to roll them down and wear as wristbands.

4. Adapt Glove II ($50). I know, I know. Fifty dollars for a pair of gloves? But these are kind of the Cadillac of running gloves. We’re talking bells and whistles like a detachable LED flashlight (!), a lightweight stowable windshield (for rain and snow), reflectivity and finger pads that let you work your touchscreen devices. They’re pretty much the pair of running gloves that you can take on your winter run and then everywhere else. They’re so cool, people will ask about them. (I know because it happened to me!)

Do you get out and run in the winter? I try to — especially when I’m not eight months pregnant, hehe! —Jenn
