Are You a Special Orderer?

Earlier this week, Erin gave us the 411 on how you can customize a delicious meal at Chipotle to fit your caloric and veggie-intake needs. The FBGs are all about special ordering foods at any restaurant to improve the health quotient of a meal. Nowadays, it’s amazing what restaurants and even fast-food joints like Chipotle will do to make a meal perfect for you. How about you? When it comes to going out,do you ask the waiter to customize your meal?

  1. I’ve gotten less and less shy about this over the years, though sometimes it gets a bit ridiculous. Our pizza order at our favorite neighborhood place?

“Small, thin crust, bell pepper and onion, sausage on one half, with whole wheat crust. Oh and can we have that half-baked, with pan sauce, and in fact extra pan sauce”).

(The “pan sauce” is a special sauce that usually only comes with the deep dish pizzas, and it’s awesome).

They probably hate us but they’re always very nice about it.

  2. I always ask for my salad to have only green leaf, romaine, or spinach on it. None of that iceberg crap for me!

  3. i guess the days of “sally ordering” (when harry met sally) being taboo are over and done with.

i sometimes slip in egg whites instead of the whole egg but other than that i’m pretty non special in the ordering dept
