Do you down Gatorade or Propel after each workout? Studies are now showing that those drinks can wear down tooth enamel as they rehydrate you. Previous studies have found that sports beverages can damage tooth enamel because of the combination of acidic components, sugars and additives. This new research shows that sports drinks softened dentin, which determines tooth size and shape, and Gatorade and Powerade caused significant staining. Don’t freak too much; sipping after a workout isn’t as bad as sipping all day every day. But make sure you’re drinking plenty of real water!

Ooh! I might just have to take lucy up on their offer.

I feel like you’d have to really be pounding sports drink around the clock to get significant tooth damage. I read about this and their testing strategy seemed a little…odd.

I tend to drink water at the gym and sometimes coconut water if I feel really depleted after a workout.

The Wii fit looks awesome, I am really interested in buying a Wii.

I like a little flavor to my water when I work out since I do a pretty intense one so I do buy Propel which has way fewer calories than Gatorade (I think 25 per bottle) BUT I use half Propel/half water. It works for me & some flavor to go with it!

I drink ONE Coconut Water after my workouts. It’s got nothing in it but pure coconut water, which hydrates me better than just plain water, and has 5 electrolytes, according to their website, to replenish after working out.

  6. Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the net the simplest
thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks

  7. I can’t tell you the number of patients I see in my office a year with tooth enamel deterioration. Fit, healthy patients who are drinking sports drinks, diet soda and so on. Please please stop this for your own dental health.
