Speedwalking with the World’s Fastest Man

During the most recent summer Olympics, I was most fascinated with the racewalking event. I’m not one to downplay the power of walking as physical activity, but I’d never seen it as a competitive event. I’d never seen athletes walk for 50 kilometers. At first it was funny, and yes, I did fall asleep before the race was over (mostly because it was on in the middle of the night), but there’s no doubt that these competitors walk faster than I could run.

Recently, Jimmy Fallon challenged Usain Bolt—also known as the world’s fastest man—to a speedwalking race. I guess Jimmy thought he would stand a chance. He does give it his best, and it is funny. Plus you get to see Mr. Fallon in short shorts. Nice!
