Have You Had a Workout Injury?

I recently spilled the beans on my injury, ironic as it is. But after Tweeting with many of you about my symptoms and experience, one thing is clear: Getting injured—especially if you’re a long-distance runner—isn’t all that uncommon. This surprised me because this is the first real injury I’ve ever had working out, and I’ve been working out regularly for 15 years. So, we’re putting the question to you.

    I’ve gotten lucky with not having injuries out of sheer luck 😀

  2. I got a stress fracture after my 20-mile training run for my first marathon. And it definitely blows!

  3. Shin splints – last week. Haven’t done cardio for a week and a half – and that’s all I can think about now! But at least I can still do weights and in the meantime rest my leg. A friend had shin splints, which turned into a stress fracture! So – that’s keeping me from doing cardio. Don’t want that.

    Plantar fasciitis! It took me almost a year of physical therapy and learning a completely new way to walk to get it to heal. Bleh.
