Let the Two-Year Celebration Begin!

Credit: D Sharon Pruitt

It’s crazy to think that FBG is two years old. On one hand, it seems like Erin and I started the site just yesterday. On the other, I can’t imagine my life without FBG. For as much as we began the site originally to help women see the beauty and joy of healthy living in all aspects of their lives, I now see that over the last two years, FBG has made me a better and more enriched person from getting to know all of you—our amazing and inspiring readers. For as much as we put out there, we get it back tenfold.

In fact, not a day goes by that I don’t think of FBG and how wonderful it has been to me personally. Not a moment passes where I’m up late (or up super early) writing where I think that I’d like to be doing anything else. When you practice your passion it shows, and I like to think that over the last 700+ days, we’ve shared our love for writing, fun, humor and a sane and livable approach to fitness in way that has motivated you to take that next challenge or find peace with who you are—as you are—while always striving to be your best self. That’s our goal.

To celebrate all of this and more, we’re dedicating this entire week to all things FBG and to all things you—our readers. Without you, FBG wouldn’t be possible. So buckle up those seat belts, and listen up for the fun stuff you can expect this week and beyond!

First, this week we’ll have not one, not two but three posts each day! The main morning post will highlight our best-of-FBG content such as the Fitties, the Noshies (new category for food!), FBG of the Year (you will LOVE this one, guys!), our fave posts and a fun “How well do you know FBG” quiz. Then, every afternoon, we’ll announce a killer giveaway (each retails for about $200), and we’ll feature a reader success story to both celebrate how awesome you guys are and to motivate every one of you that the sky really is the limit.

In other exciting FBG news (we just can’t keep mum any longer!), in the next few weeks we’ll reveal a brand-new section of the site called “Ask the FBGs,” where you can ask us for tips or advice on any health- or fitness-related topic. If you have a question for us, just email it to contact@fitbottomedgirls.com and you just might see it answered on the site! Oh, and feel free to be as public or anonymous as you want on those. If you tell us not to use your name we won’t, although we may give you some sort of fun nickname inspired by Sleepless in Seattle if you’re game.

Another exciting thing that we’re doing is partnering with SparkPeople to create an official Fit Bottomed Girls team! We’ve long been fans of SparkPeople and knew it was high time to utilize the great resources they provide. So please, if you’re already a Spark member, join our team to connect with other FBG readers, share tips and get support on living healthy. And if you’re not a SparkPeople member or think that I’m speaking jibberish, sign up and join our team!

And don’t forget about OUR NEW UPCOMING SITE Fit Bottomed Babies! This new site chronicling Erin’s pregnancy and life with a new baby along with tips for “raising a baby without going crazy” will officially launch Monday, July 12. Oh, the excitement!

So, in case we don’t say it enough (and we can never say it enough), thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for reading and coming back day after day to see what we have to say. In a world full of fitness and weight-loss gimmicks, we hope that our honesty and can-do approach to health and fitness rings true. Happy birthday to us! —Jenn
