I’ll be the first to admit that while I love most forms of exercise, I’ve never quite been as smitten with Pilates as I am with say yoga or Zumba. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I’m not very flexible, and a little to do with my exercise ADD, where I really have a hard time lying down for a full class. Whatever the reason, I’m starting to get over it and feeling a few butterflies for Pilates. Sure, you do spend a lot of time on the ground and you don’t burn a ton of calories in a class, but it’s one heck of a full core workout. And because many of the moves are challenging for me, I know it’s an area that I need to improve. And I’m all about getting stronger!
Recently I tried a new Jazzercise class called Fab Abs Pilates Style that totally kicked my butt—or more aptly put, my core. From planks to the Hundred, it was killer. Check out my full experience, including tips for Jazzercise and Pilates beginners in the video!

And a big thanks to all the ladies at the Overland Park Jazzercise for letting me crash! I had a blast! —Jenn
