Review: Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30

jillian-ripped-DVDNot that Jillian was playing before, but in Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30, she certainly isn’t playing. She’s fired up, and in four 30ish-minute workouts that go from slightly hard to “OMG, Jill, why do you hate me and my muscles so?” you’ll get one of the closest experiences to training with Jillian on The Biggest Loser Ranch as you can without really being there. Yep, it’s that good. And it’s that tough.

We’ve reviewed loads of Jillian’s workout DVDs before, but this DVD is definitely the hardest and the most complete of them all. Following her Shred DVD 3-2-1 formula (three minutes of strength, two minutes of cardio and one minute of abs), each of the four workouts build in intensity as you go, and each includes a dynamic warm-up and a calming cool down with stretching. She recommends that, starting with the easiest level, you do the workouts five to six times a week for a full week, and then move on to the next level workout. Within four weeks—along with a pretty restrictive diet plan you can download online with purchase—Jillian swears you’ll be ripped. (Notice how the cover is also “ripped.” So, cool.) Although I don’t agree with the recommendation that you should do the exact same workout five to six times a week (especially when its soreness-inducing strength work, as you need time for your muscles to recover!), Jillian does say that it may take you more than a week to progress to the next level, so that’s cool.

And the moves in this DVD are ridiculous. It’s amazing what kind of torture you can endure with just a couple of sets of dumbbells, a mat and your body. Most of the exercises in the DVD are functional in that they test your core strength, balance, agility and power, along with being compound moves (working upper body while you’re working your lower body). From creative moves like bear crawls to sledgehammers to leg squats with corkscrew curls (trust us, they’re hard), no workout features the same moves, and you will be challenged. I’d consider Levels 1 and 2 to be at an intermediate exercise level (especially if you follow the modifications), while Level 3 is advanced and Level 4 is a whole new level of crazy. Even Basheera, who is one of the workout models and is in a number of Jillian’s DVDs, has a hard time doing the whole thing—and I’ve barely seen her sweat in other DVDs. Amazing. In a nutshell, it’s on par with this place, minus the tires and pull-ups.

What’s most interesting for me though is that this is the first DVD where I think Jillian’s full—unedited—personality comes out. Sure, you’ve gotten it here and there in her other workouts, but she really lets loose in this one. A few times she growls, at one point she says she wants to bite one of the girls tushes (for reals) and by Level 4 she’s telling you that your “heart should be gurgling in your throat.” Pretty visceral, but she does it with a giddiness that shows she loves her job and that she’s totally in the zone. Or that she’s a little loco. Which I’m okay with it. Sometimes booties do look good enough to bite…or at least squeeze.

Other bonuses? The music starts out somewhat lame, but increases in intensity and bad-assness as the workouts progress. So do the outfits. And if you make it to Level 4, you’ll get one hell of an empowering pep talk from Jillian right before the cool down while you lay in corpse pose. Seriously, it’s why I love her so much.

Fit Bottom line: If you’re a Jillian fan or need a new challenge, stop reading and just go buy the darn thing. You will not be disappointed!

If you’re looking to get in shape for your wedding or another important event (bikini-season comes to mind), this oughta do it and in rapid time. I can’t imagine how Jillian will top this one. Gosh knows what she’ll bite… —Jenn

Oy. I want to try it but I don’t mind sayin’ I’m a little scared! Gonna check it out. Great review!

  2. Great review- totally agree! I’m doing week 2 right now and it’s definitely kicking my butt, but I love it. I consider myself between an intermediate and advanced fitness level, but Jill somehow manages to make me feel like a total newb with this DVD, haha.

  3. Aubrey S says:

I love me some Jillian, but I think I’m a little intimidated. I think I’ll do a repeat on the Shred before attempting to take this on.

  4. Alyssa says:

This is sitting in my cart on Amazon. Haven’t had the intestinal fortitude yet to click “Purchase.”
Maybe today will be the day!

  5. Nicole says:

What weight size in dumbells would you start out with?

    1. Jenn says:

      Hi Nicole,

I’d start with 3s or 5s, and have 8s or 10s on hand. 3s/8s for beginners, and 5s/10s for more advanced exercisers. Good luck! 🙂

      FBG Jenn

  6. Nicole says:

Thanks so much, FBG Jenn. I can lift heavy but with the weights being integrated with cardio, I was not sure where to begin. I’m new to the DVD exercise world but have heard good things about Jill’s. 🙂

  7. Ivori says:

🙂 Great review ! I hope to see this on Exercise TV On Demand !

  8. katrina m says:

thanks for the review! i was debating if i should purchase yet another jillian dvd. i love 30 day shred, NMTZ, and BFBM. i think this will be a good one for after i get back in better shape, haha.

  9. Kara Porch says:

I’m currently on week 3 and LOVE it! Although I don’t do it everyday, I mix it up a little and do cardio on days I don’t do this DVD. I highly recommend it, great purchase. I was in a rut and it has gotten me out!

  10. Debbie says:

Wow, thanks for the review. My older Jillian DVDs are on the milder side, so don’t know if I’m ready for this yet. Maybe wish-list it and see if I’m up for the challenge in the summer.

  11. Valarie says:

I have been looking for a new challenge and heard she was coming out with a new DVD. Just ordered it and can’t wait to put myself to the test. Thanks for the review.

  12. Noob Mommy says:

This is a spot-on review! I am using this DVD primarily with my own 30 Day Fitness Challenge. I love Jillian. My sister has joked that I would probably marry her if I could. I was so glad to hear she came out with a Shred “spin-off” workout using her 3-2-1 system. 4 workouts is definitely an added bonus. Then, I hit Workout 3. Bear crawls back-to-back with those squat crawls, to squat jacks and shoulder flies on one leg?? LOCO is right! I love it but I hate it 🙂

  13. Sierra says:

I’m 300 (okay, 301) pounds and I did the first two weeks of this workout so far. I’m a fan. It’s tough. Real tough. But if you really want to get in shape, you can’t expect do workout for 20 minutes and it NOT be tough. Oh, my God. I sound like Jillian. Aah!

    1. Jenn says:

Never a bad thing to sound like Jillian! 🙂 Congrats on your two weeks!

      -FBG Jenn

  14. Lana says:

I started with Jillian’s “Making the Cut” and then moved to the 30 Day Shred, now on Level 3. I’m looking forward to a new challenge and it sounds like this dvd is it! It does take your fitness to a new level. I am still working on the shredded abs but my arms have become very muscular and defined which is a plus!

  15. kim says:

Do you know how this workout compares to the beachbody insanity workouts?

    1. Jenn says:

      Hi Kim,

We haven’t tried them (yet), but I’d think the intensity of the higher level is similar although the workouts themselves are far, far shorter in time. Hope that helps!

  16. Amy says:

I got through 8 weeks of p90x, which I loved, but I got more muscle than weight loss, and quite frankly, I don’t have time to devote 1+ hours everyday to working out this summer. I tried this first, not expecting much…….but OMG! I sweat just as much in 20minutes of this (on level 1 now) as I did doing cardioX, or plyo, or the other p90x workouts! And I’m almost just as sore days after starting (a good thing). I still plan on completing a round of p90x this fall, but for now, I’m giving this a shot, so far it seems to be working. Not thrilled about the music, but the time interval gives me no excuses not to do it everyday. I do it in the morning and find I have much more energy througout the day. Can’t wait to see my results.

  17. Amanda says:

Im trying to track calories intake and how many I’ve burned. Do you know how many calorie each level in this video burns? Thanks alot 😀

    1. Jenn says:

      Hi Amanda,

Unfortunately we don’t — it depends greatly on your height, weight and how much oomph you put into the moves. On average, I’d guess that the average woman burns about 7 calories a minute in the workout, maybe 9 or 10 at the hardest level.

      Hope that helps some!

  18. Ashley says:

I just started the ripped in 30 with jillian and let me tell you! Its hard! But i already feel the results coming on. If you’re a person who needs to be told what to work on and what to eat (like myself)then this is the dvd for you! The meal plan is great and overall i love this dvd! If you havent bought it yet, you’re missing out!

  19. Bethany says:

Okay, I just bought this dvd last night and I’m ready for the next Jillian Michael’s challenging work out. I did the 30 day Shred and it was okay, but the Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones kicked my butt so I know that this one may do the same. Hopefully I will stick to this dvd and not give up.

  20. mmsong says:

Just started week # 1 last night. i am not in terrible shape, but i need to drop 15lbs. I was able to do all moves except lunges, hate them! I am going to do Yoga in the morning and this workout before dinner. I will check in weekly to let you know how i am progressing. I like this workout a lot!

  21. nygirl123 says:

just started this week ! Sore all over…in a good way 🙂 think this will work on my problem areas (knee to waist) cause that’s where i FEEL it most.

  22. tiffany says:

Would you say this is more of a fat burning/weight loss or toning DVD? Or maybe both? I did 30 shred and am just about to finish 30 slimdown (rotation of Shred, BFBM and NMTZ). Trying to decide if I do the slimdown again or move on to Ripped in 30. I have about 5-10 more lbs I would like to lose.

    Thanks!

    1. Jenn says:

      Tiffany,

I’d say it’s both — weight-loss and toning. You definitely get your cardio and weight-lifting in during it!

      –FBG Jenn

  23. tiffany says:

great thanks! i will give it a shot then. i just finished the slimdown and wanted to do something new last night. i did 6 week 6 pack level 2 and it kicked my butt!!

  24. nygirl123 says:

i am starting my 3rd week, but just moving on to 2nd weeks workout. I had to downgrade from 5lb weights to 3 lb., so i can finish without modifying too much. Use 5 lb when she uses 1 weight.

I have worked-out since i was 12. I am 46 now, and have NEVER sweat in a 20 minute workout, the way i do with this dvd. I finish exhausted, take a shower and roll into bed.(Pretty amazing!)

My results so far are internal. I feel “real” changes in my muscle tone, my stamina is increasing, but since i have a good 10 lbs of flab around my mid-section, no visible results yet. I will keep going & keep posting. Hope it inspires someone else. 🙂

  25. nygirl123 says:

P.S. my only complaint is that the cool-down is “inadequate” for this level of workout. I do an extra 5 minutes of my own stretching afterward.

  26. Emerald says:

I am on day 6 of this workout and LOVE IT! I have always been in top shape and an athlete, but I’ve had 2 babies in less than 2 years and needed something to kick my butt! This is doing it. I do it about mid morning, and I’m a crazy go getter the rest of the day! i did 2 weeks of this in May before going to the in laws for 2 months and the before and after pics in just 2 weeks were phenomenal! Can’t wait to see what it’ll be when I see it through!

  27. steph says:

I have done all of jillian michaels workout DVDs, and I find that this one and 6 week 6 pack are the two most tough ones. NMTZ is up there to! This Ripped in 30 has made my arms and shoulders totally toned, my stomach is more cut and my legs are long and lean and strong! I love jillian workouts, podcasts everything she does motivates me. Jillian rocks!!!

  28. Tracy says:

I’ve been doing the 30 Day Shred EVERYDAY for over 5 weeks now… I have been at level 3 for just over 2 weeks. The 30 Day Shred has been amazing, life changing, and my body is fit and trim like I was in my 30’s. (I am 46 years old now and I was almost resigned to being soft and jiggly, until 30 Day Shred!)
Tomorrow I begin Ripped in 30! Totally psyched. I appreciate your blog!

  29. Helen says:

I don’t know how she does it, but I always have the feeling that Jillian knows if I am giving my 100% through the camera!!!! Haha… Really. I never stop cause I have the feeling she is going to come and kick my butt.. Awesome as always!

  30. Carole says:

I started Out doing Jillian Michaels online program and lost 30 pounds and toned up and lost several inches. I am now doing the get ripped in 30 days and loving it. I am at nice weight 110 lbs and now just working on getting more definition. I just finished week one and loving it. She is very motivating and if you watch your diet plan and do the work out you do see results. I follow her diet guideline for ideas but make my own meals. Jillian is an awesome trainer!

  31. Denise says:

This is a fantastic DVD and I am eagerly anticipating her next DVD available Dec 6! I am 46, 5’4″ and 119lbs and Jillian’s DVD’s plus running 3 X a week keep me in shape and maintain my weight.

  32. Denise says:

oh and of course I eat well 95% of the time..everyone needs a treat sometime 😉

  33. Nicole says:

This DVD is amazing! I have been working out for years and I love to run about 3 days a week. After having my baby last year, I felt like I needed a little something extra to melt off the last of the baby weight, and this did the trick! I completled it back in August and I lost 7 pounds in the 30 days. I am 5’5 about 130lbs now and would really like to get down to 125. So i decided to go at it again last week and am confident this will do the trick 🙂 Along with eating healthy of course. The DVD is only 20 min so there really is no excuse not to do it. And just when you start to feel bored, its time to move on to the next level. I have done P90x and other workout programs and I truley find this to be the most motivating! Being a full time working mom, there is not much time in the day. So this is fast, effective and perfect to do at the end of the night after you put your little one to bed 🙂 Good luck to all doing it! Stay committed! You WILL see results!

  34. Eva says:

I just got the dvd, and I am going to start this tomorrow… To be fair, I am scared silly. I tried the 30 Day Shred, and level 1 was already hard for me. Looks like this is going to kick my butt, hard!

  35. ashlee says:

I have almost completed week one and I am already seeing results!! This DVD is legit! Its exactly what I need to get the body I want. I have also been following my own diet, which has probably helped..but I am extremely excited to see the ending results on week 4. Good lucky everyone! 🙂

  36. Laurie says:

I just bought the DVD and was reading the reviews online. Other reviews have said that this DVD hurt their knees and lower back. Was this true for any of you who use Ripped in 30?
    Thank you.

  37. I just added this Jillian’s Ripped in 30 to my P90x routine. Talk about a challenge! I love every burning minute of it! Can’t wait to see the results! Jillian is a beast as well as one of my fitness idols!

  38. colleen says:

I started the dvd two weeks ago. I did NMTZ and it really worked to get me vacation ready last winter. during the summer I like to run and stopped doing the dvd. This is what I needed to get me going again. I have found during week 1 it was pretty easy so I added running in the afternoon. HARD!! Week2, I tried to run after the workout and ended up walking most of it. This is a kick butt work out. I don’t know whether to just do the DVD and not run for a month or to try to alternate days. I might try that on week 3. I defintiely feel it in my core and am surprised how much I feel it in my arms because it doesn’t feel like I am lifting much (because I am trying not to fall over in the stork stance I think!)

  39. Jessica says:

I am a 33 year old mother of four ranging from 14 to 4. I am 5’3 and I started this DVD two weeks ago weighing 209 lbs. as of today I have lost 5 lbs, averaging 2.5 lbs a week. I feel awesome! My first try at the workout I was dizzy, faint, and nauceas. I cried and told myself to keep going. I’m on week two level one still and today I broke down crying during the cool down. I was listening to Jillian talk about caring enough about yourself to give it your all and show up to workout. This hit me hard and I realized, that’s it I’m taking care of myself. I thank her and can’t wait to send her my before and after picture!!

  40. Wendy says:

I bought the DVD today!!! Cannot wait to start tomorrow! I will keep you all posted.

  41. Lori says:

I love Jillian Michaels DVDs! I now have six of them. Over the last year, I have lost nearly 45 pounds and am now just trying to maintain my weight loss by continuing to exercise and eat properly. I started with 30 Day Shred. Then I alternated between NMTZ and BFBM. Next I added “Shred It with Weights” to add some variety. I recently purchased “Killer Buns and Thighs” and “Ripped in 30” and have tried them both. Since NMTZ and BFBM are nearly 60 minute workouts, I wonder if alternating between these two DVDs will burn as many calories since they are only about half as long. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

  42. Lynn says:

I am 42, 5’5, and 142 lbs. I’d be happy if I could lose 10. I have been eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and doing this video almost every day for 3 weeks. I am definitely firmer but I haven’t lost any weight. I am not following her diet plan, but I eat similar foods..lots of salads, oatmeal, egg whites, no sugar (except fruit), etc..I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I imagine it has something to do w/my metabolism and age..I do tend to eat one more snack that Jillian recommends..like a rice cake w/almond butter or a handful of nuts, because I am starving. Any suggestions?

  43. Kelly says:

I just got this workout DVD, so still on week 1 and plan to stay on week 1 for 2 weeks. I’m happy with my weight so not following her meal plan, but rather to get into better shape and toned. Love the challenge and her character!

  44. Patti Mehalic says:

I am someone who excercises all the time and pretty much most of my life. I walk, I have an elliptical machine, but wanted to try something different, felt like I was at a stand still. so decided to give Miss Jillian a try. The ripped in 30 is the first one I’ve ever done. from these comments maybe I should of started with shredded. But I didn’t. I started Jan 9, 2012, I did week 1 and week 2 for two weeks each, I am now on week 3. I feel better after I’m done, but not seeing much difference? I don’t do it every day would love to but my schedule just doesn’t permit. Although I’m at least doing it 4-5 days a week.
I’m 50, on medication that makes me tired and I want to lose at least 30 lbs and it all seems to be in the area of my waist and up. should I be trying to do something in addition to the video? any comments would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I have found that I am not as flexible as I use to be (ha ha ) and if there are any excercises I don’t feel I’m gaining anything from I will improvise with something else from the video, or if I can’t just do it. I know can’t isn’t a work in excercising. But the one in particular the leg crawl where you have to raise your top half to crawl up your leg or the one where you raise yourself off the floor for your abs? just don’t have the strength? So again any comments or suggestions would be really appreciated. Thanks

  45. Alyssa says:

Just started this workout on Thursday, so two days doing it and I’m pretty sore! It’s a great dvd though and I love Jillian so much that I decided to buy the new dvd… Little did I know what she had in store for me! It’s a great intensity though and the whole time your doing it Jillian is pushing you to your limits. I really enjoy this dvd and hope that I can keep up with it

  46. rebecca says:

End of week 1. The work is so much easier than day one, so must already be getting stronger. I am hopeful the results will not only be “internal” (energy, mood, etc) but alos, some obvious shrinkage. I am following her meal plan – modified for taste, but within the calorie limits. Anyone done the whole 4 weeks with meal plan?

  47. Kelly says:

OMG!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this workout DVD from Jillian!! I have several of her dvds & this one by far is my favorite!!! I started doing it Jan 2 and have done it at least 5 days a week since then! I have gotten more “ripped” with this particular dvd from Jill than any others- and that is WITHOUT a “diet plan” I sweat like crazy every time I do it, no matter what level I’m doing. The way I did it was followed Jills advice and went through the dvd 1 week at a time, then after the first month was up, I decided to rotate the workouts every day. Monday-Week 1, Tues-Week 2, Wed-Week 3, Thurs-Week 4 & Friday I either let myself sleep in or start back at week 1 & just rotate them with one or 2 days of rest per week. What I also like about this dvd is it goes fast & I am still not bored with it. I think Jillian nailed it with Ripped in 30.

  48. Susan says:

I just did my first day of week one and my butt is screaming!! LOVE IT! Cant wait for tomorrow. I wasnt sure what to think at first but man she doesnt slack at all. I love how she speaks to the audience….good motivation. I’m excited to seee what I’m going to look like in 30 days. I just quit smoking this past summer and gained some weight….I’m sure to have my body back in no time wiht Jillian

  49. Alicia Stevens says:

OMG I just bought this DVD I started last night and I feel it today in my abs, hamstrings and sides. I am ready to do it agian today. I never sweat and with this I sweat my butt off. I love it so far!!

  50. Michelle says:

I’ve been doing week 1 for the last 3 weeks. So far I’ve only done the workout 2 times a week, hopefully this week I’ll finally get it up to five, and then Im moving on to level 2 next week. This is by far one of the best workouts I’ve ever done! I’m already feeling more energetic and toned. I sweat my butt off and can feel soreness in all the right places (thighs, butt, abs, arms.) I’m a video workout enthusiast and have tried all kinds of things from tae-bo in the nineties, to P90X most recently (which I don’t recommend unless you like working out longer and less efficiently.) What I like about Ripped in 30 is that it’s a total body workout using combination moves to help you burn more calories and hit more muscle groups at the same time. And no wasted time in between sets, it’s just go-go-go! And all the equipment you need is a pair of dumbbells and your body. No home workout I’ve ever used before got me sweating that much in only 30 minutes. I have yet to drop the 10 pounds I’m looking to lose, but I’m not really attempting to do it in 30 days, and I’m not following the diet plan. I prefer to go slow and let my body adjust naturally. The slower it comes off, the easier it will be to maintain!….. The only thing I don’t like about the video is Jillian Michael’s attitude. She’s a touch obnoxious, and there are some points I have to look away and close my ears. But, I’d rather workout to her than anyone else. There’s always the mute button.

  51. Rosalind says:

Love this video. I look forward to giving it my all 5 days a week and it gives back! After having two kids and being so unhappy with my body I’m excited 🙂 Getting to be a hot Mamma with this workout and quicker than I ever could have imagined. Love that it makes me work so hard and no time to be bored.

  52. Nicole says:

I ve had this DVD doe some time but. Ever stuck to it. So I dusted it off and I’m doing it for four weeks. Gotta say I’m really liking it. I will switch to week 2 next week. I am using this in a rotation of Chalen extreme program. See what happens in four weeks.

  53. Angel says:

I’ve had the video for 3 days and completed the workout 2 days in a row. Week 1 is intense. I sweat so hard during the workout and sometimes I talk back to the tv telling Jillian she’s trying to kill me! I’m hoping for great results in week 4…if I survive, I’m in pain now.

  54. Diane says:

Just got this dvd 3 days ago and have done it twice while dieting. I swear I hav lost 2 lbs in 2 days its crazy. Its def a hard workout but totslly worth it and you see results. I had been doing the treamill for 3 weeks and just noticed my butt became more toned. This is so much better and is only a half hr long but be prepared to sweat. This is the best workout ever. It was recommended to me by a friend. She said after the 4 weeks it was the best shape shes ever been in her life! I highly recommend this dvd! I got it for 12 bucks!

  55. Shonda says:

Love this set. I am working Week 3 now, although I don’t do them every day. I do them 2-3 times a week, mixing them up with some yoga and pilates, and plain ol’ cardio on the elliptical. Jillian is awesome…although sometimes I do hate her a little bit 😉

  56. emma says:

just finishing get shred in 30 & now gonna start get ripped in 30! wow hell here i come

  57. Frankie says:

Hi what would be best for me wanting to lose 10 pounds – im 18 and relatively fit, 132 pounds.. should I do Shredded or Ripped in 30? 🙂

  58. Betsy says:

Hey I am about to start the Ripped in 30 and have stocked the fridge with the necessary items for the diet. I have a question though, on a lot of the recipies like the steak salad, it doesn’t list how many servings that recipie makes. Surely we are not making 1lb of meat and 8 cups of lettuce for 1 portion. So how do I know how much one meal should make? Or what did you do when you followed the diet?

  59. Shir says:

I’ve gone on and off level 1 thrice! by day 3, my body is screaming and I hate everything, haha. I picked going to gym instead of JM but I have a serious time crunch now so JM it is! I promise to be regular this time around. any tips would be great! the reviews really did encourage me to pick JM over 45 minutes at the gym!

  60. tina says:

So you would recommend 1 day recovery between workouts. I want to do it more and don’t know what to do on my off days, but when I was doing it more, I got very sharp needle piercing pain in my shoulder. I overused something and have started doing the ripped in 30 workouts every other day. I know I could see quicker results if I could do it everyday. So I was surfing the internet trying to find some sort of recommendation. When she says 5-6 days a week that does not allow for a day between workouts. So I’m surprised she does not give a guideline. Hers recommendation is somewhat ambiguous.

    1. Jenn says:

      Hi Tina,

Our recommendation is every other day with maybe some cardio on off days. Definitely give yourself a day or two totally off a week though — and listen to that body! Pain is a sign that you’re doing too much for sure. 🙂

      —FBG Jenn

  61. Sue says:

This is an awesome DVD, I love it, I’ve seen great results with it, but yeah, it’s hard. Another big favorite of hers is Shred it With Weights. Holy cow that’s a tough one, what’s more, she says at the beginning than she LOVES kettlebells and it’s obvious as she practically does the whole video. I would recommend that one for some fantastic looking arms.

I did 3 days of ripped in 30, only eating healthy foods (not from her diet list). I checked my weight and I only lost one pound. I am 18 5’4 and weigh 160. I used to be 145. I don’t look fat at all but I have fat on me. I’ve done a 4 day water fast and lost 15 pounds. Mostly water weight, but when I ate the next day, I didn’t gain any of it back. that was when I weighed 147. Water fasting is not bad for you if don’t do it for too long. To make the weight stay of you have to eat healthier and less than you did before. I’m going to do alternate days of fasting while working out. Bodybuilders intermittent fast all the time.

This is a fantastic workout to get ripped! I’ve modified the moves slightly to accommodate my left knee which is recovering from a previous injury. This is my fourth week into the workout and the result is most rewarding. My daughter is most inspired and she has since started to ‘Get Ripped’ with Jullian too!

Ripped in 30 is the first DVD I’ve tried and I must admit it is the first time I have actually broke a good sweat! I’ve never felt a good workout like this when I went to the gym or had a personal trainer! I am only two days into it and every muscle in my body feels it…..I love it!! On the off days I plan on riding my bike…..I must admit I will probably stay on week 1 for a couple of weeks before moving on to week 2, since I am someone who very rarely exercised I need time to adjust or at least my body and muscles do. But I am committed!!

I started ripped in 30 after not working out much at all for a year. I couldn’t walk the first few days but kept doing it every day and the soreness went away. Now I feel really strong and can’t believe the muscles I have gained. I had recently lost some weight and her program toned up the flabby areas. She really motivated me to get going again and at only 30 minutes, I felt like I could do it (being a mom and working full time). Don’t be afraid to try it. I have started doing her NMTZ and I think it is a killer, mostly because it is 50 minutes instead of 30. Jillian is fantastic!! I have never seen results like I did after those 30 days.

A little extract perhaps from this blog concerning the DVD but still concerning the same subject “Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30”. Rather than join the gym I instead brought an xbox One so that I could do Fitness (with the Kinnect) as over a year its about the same as a gym membership. Guys / Ladies, I have only done a few Week 1 Gillian ripped in 30 work outs but can already declare it is out of this world. Being able to work out in your own home, not worry about making any groans or grunts whilst trying to lift weights etc (which I do ha) is just brilliant.

Week 1, level 1, day 1. Wow, I can’t wait to see what the next 30 days will bring!

Started the Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 2 days ago. Its DEFINITELY made me break out in a sweat. Previously, I’ve tried 30 day shred but I found it quite difficult and honestly kinda boring. So I found this DVD and I’m loving it. She motivates you somuch that you feel that you can complete every circuit exactly like her (except this effect hasn’t worked on me yet!:D) I’m not following her diet plan but I am using the ‘My Fitness Pal’ app to track my calories. I’ve been doing the RI30 twice a day at different intervals. I’m not sure if this is okaii though… should I let my muscles rest? Can’t wait to see the results though- fingers crossed. Definitely recommend all of Jillian’s DVD’s. She is the BEST- seriously!

Wow is all I can say ripped in 30 is awesome. I was recently dignosed with diabetes 1 and felt my walking 2 miles a day was just not good enough of a work out. I refuse to pay money to go to a gym. That brought me to Ripped in 30. I love this work out I can’t wait each day to put it in the DVD player and do it. I did week one for two weeks and the same with week 2 only this being the third week I am actually doing week 2 &3 together, I do it every day. I can tottaly feel the results can’t see them yet but I can feel it. I am not following her meal plan because of my diabetes. The “get u some” I could do with out but it’s not so bad. Well all I can say is I absolutely love this work out. I would recommend trying it out, if you are looking for something that pushes you, makes you sweat and able to work out fast this is it. Oh I forgot to mention I get bored easy over repetition and this keeps me ingaged. So seriously what are you still reading this for go get you some fat burning, butt kicking, quarter bouncing of your butt Ripped in 30. You won’t regret it

I really like Jillian! She really pushes you! And that is what I need! I was 310 now I am 296 but I have only done the first week! I’m scared and ready yo start the second week. I wanted results and I’m getting them! Its definitely hard work but it pays off. She tells you it don’t have to be perfect just do your best!

  71. Your blog was really awesome.I try most of the tips from yours. It really helps my daily workouts.

I just started Shred 3 days ago and LOVE it. Ripped in 30 is next up for me (after I finish Shred) and it clearly seems that I need to work my way up to it. I love me some Jillian and am so glad I found these!
