Bee Yourself and Fight Cancer (Plus an iPad Giveaway!)

ipadThis is a sponsored post written by Fit Bottomed Girls on behalf of BeeWell for Life. All opinions are 100 percent ours.

One of my all-time favorite protein sources is canned tuna. Sure, it smells fishy, but it’s oh-so high in protein and low in calories. Plus, I can make a mean healthy tuna salad with cabbage, tuna, low-fat mayo, mustard and cut-up pickles all wrapped up in a soft whole-wheat tortilla. (Try it. I swear you won’t be disappointed.) So why are we talking about tuna today? Well, because one of our favorite tuna companies, Bumble Bee (and it’s not just because Ace Ventura loves it!), is doing something hella cool. They’re holding a four-week contest at Tag4Cancer.com to increase awareness about breast cancer and educate people about its Walk and Bee the Difference campaign!

TheBeeWellfor Life site is chock full of tools and resources available at your fingertips to make the most of your healthy active lifestyle. Plus, for every mile you walk, run, or cycle and log on www.beewellforlife.com, Bumble Bee will donate $0.10/mile to Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. To date, more than 1.5 million miles have been logged and $450,000 donated to support programs that ensure no one faces breast cancer alone. Pretty sweet, right?

If you want to get involved (of course you do!) to make a difference—and win an iPad2—it’s easy. First, leave a comment on this post sharing how and why one of your friends inspires you to be fit and make a difference for others. Be sure to mention your friend by linking to her Facebook, blog or Twitter handle in the comment, too. Here’s an example: “@LuvandKiwi is a survivor and inspires me to run faster!” Next, be sure to follow @beewellforlife on Twitter and on Facebook. (Click here for full contest rules.)

Do that and you’re entered! As two of my close family members are breast cancer survivors, this is a topic near and dear to my heart. And I’m sure most of you have also had breast cancer affect yourself, your family or your friends in some way. So what are you waiting for? Comment away! —Jenn
