Happy Memorial Day, everyone! To me, this holiday marks the unofficial beginning of summer. And after fall (which is pretty much the perfect season, in my opinion), my favorite season is summer. This year, I get the double-bonus of not being pregnant during the heat of the summer AND having a super-fun kiddo to keep me company. Here are a few items on our summer to-do list!

My 3 Summer To-Dos

1. Head to the pool. We’re still taking our swim classes, but I want to hit the neighborhood pool a few times, too. Nothing says summer like a little bit of chlorine and sunshine!

2. Enjoy fresh veggies! I’m trying my hand at gardening again this summer. This time harvesting won’t be interrupted by an early arrival, so I’m hoping to get more cucumbers pickled and be able to can some tomatoes as well. I also transplanted a strawberry plant left by the previous homeowners that seemed to thrive on neglect last year, so I’m curious to see how it does—if I can keep the squirrels and pug away.

3. Relax. Whether it’s sitting on the back porch drinking some lemonade (or a beer!) or reading a book for pleasure, I’m craving a bit of relaxation. I will carve out some time to turn off the computer, step away from the BlackBerry and unplug.
