Nike Fall/Holiday Training Preview: Drool-Worthy Nike Wear!

Nike When Nike invited us to its Fall/Holiday 2011 Training Preview event last week, I happily did a bit of a mad scramble to find childcare so that I could head into NYC to see the latest and greatest Nike wearables. As always, the “Just Do It” brand didn’t disappoint . I felt like I had to hold myself back so that I wouldn’t run around grabbing items off of the preview racks to stuff in my bag and take home with me. It might have been unprofessional of me to do so, but it might have almost been worth it.

One of my favorite items was the Legend pant (at left). The super-thick waist band is ultra-flattering (like this pant, but way thicker), and it has a layer of “power mesh” for a slimming compression effect that still allows you to move freely during workouts. It comes in four different fits, so no matter your workout, this legendary pant has you covered. Speaking of coverage, the rise of the pant in the back is higher than the front, so no worries about flashing a crack! (Phew!) Also cool? Each pair uses 10 recycled water bottles!  So green.

The Nike 2011 Fall/Holiday lineup.

Other seriously cool notables? Nike’s quality sports bras, especially the adjustable Victory Adjust X bra. Also loved one with “Just Do It” handwritten in neon yellow all over it. The shoe lineup is also drool-worthy, with the Nike Free XT Motion Fit+ and Nike Free TR Fit in some eye-poppingly fun color combos. Not to mention new workout-casual apparel you’ll want to wear when you’re not in the gym, along with a seriously awesome new reflective jacket called the Vapor Flash Jacket, which will be available in October. It’s gray but turns a bright, reflective white when lights hit it at night—perfect for road running safely! What’s on your must-buy list for fall? —Erin
