Biggest Loser Season 12 Has Begun!

biggest loser*SPOILER ALERT* This post reveals details from last night’s The Biggest Loser episode. So if you don’t want to know the dramatic details and results, click away, my friend, click away!

It’s baaack! Season12 of The Biggest Loser kicked off last night, and I have to say that my Tuesday nights feel good again. (I was seriously having some Bob Harper withdrawal there.) While the entire show was was just a little—okay A LOT—weird without Jillian Michaels, it was super interesting to see the new trainers Anna Kournikova and Dolvett Quince interact with and train the new contestants. My initial reaction to both of the newbies is that I’d like to see more of them. Like one contestant said (I can’t remember names to save my life yet again this season), Dolvett seems to go from normal, chill guy to the Incredible Hulk, and Anna goes from sweetheart to beating ya. Both new trainers show promise, but like we’ve seen before, only time will tell.

Let’s talk contestants now. The only person whose name I can remember is Bonnie, and her losing just four pounds on the scale was heartbreaking. Everyone else seemed pretty typical for BL—all with tragic stories that keep Kleenex in business. It’ll be fun to get to know everyone more as the season progresses, but I appreciated that the unnecessary drama was nipped in the bud when the group chose to have Debbie go home. (I had to look up her name. Darn BL name-amnesia!) This whole “battle of the ages” thing is interesting, and I sincerely hope the older folks aren’t below the yellow line most of the time. We shall see.
