It’s a Bracelet! It’s a Hair Tie! It’s Both!

Now that I have kids, I almost always have my hair pulled back in a ponytail. With a handsy toddler and little time to style my hair, I rarely even take the time to dry it and instead pull it back wet much of the time. I pull it back into ponytails so much that I walked around the house collecting hair ties the other day. My wrist ended up looking like this:

This is an extreme example, but it’s a rare day I don’t have a spare or two hanging out on my wrist. This is why I loved the idea of Chilly Jilly’s Duelette ($15), a combination bracelet and hair tie for those who always want to have a hair tie ready but who don’t like to rock the elastic-on-the-wrist look like I do above.

The Duelette comes in black and white, with gold and/or silver metallic accents, and a bead allows it to be adjusted to the appropriate size. I love the concept of this product, but I did find that I couldn’t quite get it adjusted tightly enough to hold my hair really sturdily. My hair might fall into a category where two loops wasn’t tight enough, but three was too tight. But does it work in a pinch? Absolutely! And does it look cooler than a regular old rubber band? Definitely!

Want to try a Duelette out for yourself? We’re giving away a white one with silver accents. Comment below to enter to win! Winners will be chosen randomly in about a week. U.S. residents only, please. —Erin
